Great for taking apart shocks with ease
I wouldn't want to work on shocks without this tool. Great product and cheaper than the rest.

Well made. The tool you didn't know you needed.
Non-marring surface so you don't accidentally scratch your shock shafts. The ball insertions tool makes life easier. You don't know you need this tool until you have one.

Nice tool, serves it's purpose
Fits very well in my hand and is comfortable to use. The tool works perfectly to hold the shock shafts, several size options ensures that. Grips very well even if you have super tight ends and have to apply alot of torque to twist loose the end.The reason for 4 stars is the punch. I am able to use it to install and remove ball ends, it does work, but the hole is very small. I have to line everything up perfectly to punch the ball end out, otherwise it hangs up on the hole and won't punch out. Installing is never a problem, but ball end removal is a bit combersome.Overall great tool and serves it's purpose well.

Great tool
I am very glad that I purchased these shock pliers. I have used it on several occasions to hold shock rods and it works great. I have also used the largest opening to hold the top of my shocks while screwing on the caps (I believe that they are 17mm). The ball remove/insert tool works fine too. Some folks may complain that it does not have a dedicated feature for inserting the balls. Having used other shocks pliers in the past and been frustrated with the insert feature; I have found it much easier/faster to use the remove feature to also insert; thus, I am perfectly happy with the setup of these pliers. They are aluminum and therefore quite light; I appreciate less weight to carry around in my toolbox. Overall, these seem to work as well as any pliers that I have used in the past; I would buy them again. I kind of wish that there were instructions, or a picture in the description, to point out all of the features. But I guess that I've mostly figured it out now.

Works great on turnbuckles and shock shafts
Was a little skeptical this would work. So glad I bought it though. Works great on putting those eyelets on shock shafts and ball end joints on those turnbuckles. It does everything that it was made for.

Works as Intended!!
Good price for this product. Works as well as the more expensive ones.

why didnt I get this sooner?
First time using a nutcracker style shock shaft clamp tool, after a couple decades using the channel lock plier type. Much firmer grip pressure and easier to use. Should have switched over long ago.

Missing a key element.
This has the right idea but poorly implemented. One thing people use this for is to put a pivot ball into a rod end. The problem is - there is no stop. So what’s that mean? This device is also made to remove the pivot. You use it the same way. You put the rod end with pivot ball into this device and squeeze. It pops the pivot out fine. When putting in, however, you put pivot on top of rod end and squeeze to make it pop in. The problem is it just pops out the other side as if you were removing it. What is needed is a stop so it does not push it all the way through. I found clever ways to put the pivots in but this should already have a clever way to do that. Otherwise you get frustrated trying to put a pivot ball in over and over due to nothing stopping it from going all the way through. It would not take much to add that feature.
