AUSTOR Desoldering Sucker and 6 Pcs Solder Braid Wick (2.0mm/2.5mm/3.0mm Width, 1.5m Length) with Flux - Desoldering Vacuum Pump Solder Removal Tool

Used in swapping batteries on GBA carts. Worked fine for it. The pump ranged from mildly effective to useless. The braid cleaned up what the pump couldn't. It was my first time soldering, so I didn't have any of this stuff on hand already, so getting a small variety was a good comfort - I knew some part of this would definitely do what I needed, even if I wasn't certain exactly which part that would be.I know this doesn't sound like a 5-star review, but what it boils down to is that I didn't pay much and I'm happy with the results after using the product. Is there better gear out there? I'm certain there is. But this was the right price for this package.

The device works and all the rolls of solder were there. The rolls were packed as sets, if you don't look close it appears there is only one roll of each. I think that's why some are claiming they didn't receive all the rolls. IDK. My order was complete as far as that goes. For the price, I don't expect much longevity from the suction device but so far it has worked quite well for my needs and I am quite satisfied.

These are very easy and great to use! The wick has no issues absorbing solder on surface mount pads, or in through holes. Cleans all the solder up really well! It has flux in the wick and it seems perfectly adequate. The spindle holders easily melt though, especially if you're using the soldering iron close to it.The solder sucker works well especially if you're using hot air to melt the solder in the through holes, then use the sucker to pull the solder out. Kinda gets jammed up but eventually the excess solder builds up and the metal pin inside grabs on enough to eject it out.Can't go wrong trying these out if you're new to soldering or just starting out. Most important thing is properly flowing/heating everything and not using force causing pads to rip off the PCB.

Haven't used the braided wire yet, but I do use Austor solder so it should be good.The sucker has really good power compared the the blue and silver that is usually included with cheap irons and stations and it completely cleared a lot of solder from a switch in one shot.Hasn't broken and I have used it on 3 solder joints, my wrist 4 times and dry fired it 30 times, doubt it will break like other reviewers have had happen.update 3/26/21Solder pump was full and needed taken apart to remove a jam, normal and still working better than the silver and blue one I have.

I always wondered if these things really worked and were worth the money. I had a very sensitive and important piece of electronics that I needed to do some desoldering on, and I didn't want to take any chances of messing it up, so I purchased this Sucker to have in my bag of tricks just in case, even though I was leery of its value. Well, I was having some difficulty removing some solder from a delicate area, so I pulled this out and gave it a shot because the desoldering wicks just weren't quite enough. Bam! Problem solved. Use Wicks and this Sucker and you should be able to desolder anything!

I go through this stuff like crazy desoldering components. I didn’t need the sucker but for the price and amount of wick they give you it’s a no brainer. Works just like every other wick! It’s wild at my local shop one single roll of wick costs as much as this 6 pack AND a solder sucker. Awesome.

Well I’m not best at desoldering so I couldn’t say if it does do as stated. I couldn’t get it to work. Was not that happy. Desolder wick was thinner than I needed. Maybe that’s why it was difficult to desolder . Needs to be wider.

This is a great product and I was very surprised on how good it worked. I am very impressed and satisfied.

The sucker works great; I am impressed.However, the solder wicks did not soak up very much solder in my (limited) experience.Perhaps I should try adding fresh solder to the joints before wicking up the solder, as suggested by some folks.
