Revolutionary in concept, electronic ink is a fusion of chemistry, physics and electronics to create millions of tiny microcapsules about the diameter of a human hair. Each microcapsule contains positively charged white particles and negatively charged black particles suspended in a clear fluid that migrates with the application of an electric field to produce an ink-on-paper appearance. To form an E Ink electronic display, the ink is printed onto a sheet of plastic film that is laminated to a layer of circuitry. The circuitry forms a pattern of pixels that can then be controlled by a display driver. These microcapsules are suspended in a liquid "carrier medium" allowing them to be printed using existing screen printing processes onto virtually any surface, including glass, plastic, fabric and even paper. Ultimately electronic ink will permit most any surface to become a display, bringing information out of the confines of traditional devices and into the world around us. Only if you must have eInk . . .
consider this watch since that is its only unique feature. Despite having high hopes for this watch, I returned it in a few days. You will find more functionality (backlight, option for 12 hr view in second time zone, readable instructions) in a <$30 digital or ana-dig. As an above average size man, I found the watch too large and too complicated for the few features available. It cannot just be me; the dropping price probably signifies a lack of demand.BTW only consider those Seiko kinetic ("battery free") watches if you are willing to buy a capacitor every 6-8 years at about $60-100. Mine just died, and I regret not being able to change a cheap battery.

Good Watch
Liked the styling so I bought the watch in spite of the average reviews. I'm glad I did. Have had no problems with the watch so far.

Solid construction, REALLY stupid display
I got this watch because I wanted sleek contemporary watch, with stainless or tungsten bracelet, and digital-only display.Pro: The body and bracelet are integrated very well. After adjusting the bracelet to fit my very thin arm, it felt very solid and nice.I really liked how the watch body is curved and flows into the bracelet. The hardware engineer of this watch did a superb job.Con: What a stupid display! Whoever designed it, and approved it, must be on drugs that day. . . Essentially, it designed to annoy, by ignoring ergonomics consideration: 1. Related information should be together. 2. The information you use more often should be easier to see. 3. People read left to write.Instead, this is how main display is organized (top to bottom): Day of the week (in small letters) Month (in huge letters) Hour and minute (in tiny letters) Day of the month (in huge letters)So, on Aug 20 in 8:41 pm, you see huge 8 20 , then between them, in tiny letters 8 41.If you get tired of getting confused, and decide to switch to the screen with time only, you have two options: 1. Hour and minute arranged vertically, in huge letters (never mind our eyes trained to read left to right) 2. Hour in minutes arranged horizontally, but in tiny letters. Tiny letters on huge screen looks a little feminine to say the least. Then, if you want to know what day of the month is, you have to scroll through all other screens with second time zone until you get to the first screen. The proper design would be so much simpler. So, why did I judged it 5 stars? Simply stunning and unique hardware. So far, it survived a lot of abuse. While I managed to scratch stainless steel, the glass still looks like new. And, the watch streamline look gets complements regularly.

Dissappointing execution of a novel concept.
Surprisingly bulky, I was looking for elegance, modern and a fresh look. If it weighed half as much it would be fine. The display is dimmer and fuzzier than expected for this technology. I am returning it. I love the concept but this execution is sadly deficient.

The watch seemed like it was used.
When I received the watch it was not wrapped in plastic or anything. It had minor scratches.I like the watch, but I didn't like the service. If it wasn't scratched and the service was better I would have rated it 5 stars.

worst watch I ever owned
I bought two of these watches. They were both problematic from the start. They had to be reset at least once, and often several times a day. A little after a year after I bought them, one stopped working altogether. The other is just limping along.

I love this watch.
I get compliments everyday on this watch. People are interested in the technology of it, and it looks cool. I had the previous version of this watch and I got the same responses.

Phosphor Digital Wrist Watch
This is a great watch with an outstanding display. I returned it to Amazon today because the band was too small. If you are of average size I suspect it will be the best looking, best working, most satisfying timepiece you will ever own. If you lift weights or like to eat, select another watch. Please help me to nag Amazon to display watches with a large image so you can see what you are buying before you purchase and save yourself and them the hassle of having to return the product. Also, it would be nice if the actual length of the watch band was provided in the details and if the length is adjustable. Putting band width as STANDARD or MENS is so crass. Recommend Amazon have a separate watch section for the Big and Tall. What's the number for Customer Support?
