The alarm is suitable for use by anyone who has concerns for their safety. It can easily be attached to a keyring, bag or belt, ready for whenever you go out, or when you stay in a hotel - or just keep it behind your front door as a ‘panic button’ (maybe attach it to the door, wall, or door handle) in case someone tries to enter when you open it. It could also be used in the home, e.g., if you live with someone who is maybe prone to falls and needs to summon you from another part of the house or garden. The alarm is activated by pulling out the contact pin (connected to the short lanyard) and deactivated by pushing it back into place. There is also a white LED light that is activated by pressing and holding down the button on the front of the alarm. The alarm is battery-powered (replaceable) and should last a while as, hopefully, it won’t be used very often - but test the alarm regularly to check the power level is OK! Remember, whether or not you carry a personal alarm – be alert at all times, and don’t take unnecessary avoidable risks, better safe than sorry! The price at the time of writing is £3.79 - I think that’s a bargain.

I ordered this personal alarm to, at least, give me some reassurance that she has some protection.Presented as a key ring with a useful built in key torch. The alarm is activated by pulling out a pin attached to a wrist strap. The device uses 3 x LR44 batteries (which are included) and is not a rechargeable USB type. The key chain can be removed (and batteries replaced) if required by unscrewing the battery cover. In use the alarm is very loud at 140 decibels and sounds similar to that on an alarmed fire door.This is inexpensive, gives some peace of mind for your personal security and I would be happy to recommend it to you.
