Beautiful and functional!
We love this portafilter!! It did take a little bit of time to get used to it, and alas it works best combined with a WDT tool and a puck screen -which we had no idea we needed to begin with. This is because the portafilter is bottomless, which is great if you want to see how your coffee is coming out (evenly distributed and at the proper infusion time) it’s actually very exciting and it could help hint what you may need to adjust in your espresso prep. Also, we have a Breville Grinder Pro and if you use a “screw-on” funnel (ours is a Knodos) this portafilter fits perfectly under the grinder. The walnut handle is beautiful!

Good quality portafilter. Lighter weight handle.
The woodwork is beautiful. Quality workmanship. Lighter weight than my Rocket branded portafilters.

Major Splashing
Overall I like the quality of this portafilter. It is made from solid wood and metal. The basket is easy to change and it fits perfectly in my Barista Pro.On the negative side, I was sent out the wrong color. The portafilter is also prone to splashing. I would expect this to some extent, although for me it not only splashes all over the place there are literal streams of espresso going out in all different directions including the floor. I changed the basket thinking that was the issue but it did not help. For now I will be sticking with my original portafilter until I better understand how to utilize the new one without issue.

Love the handle shape, high quality basket included
Absolutely love the way it looks, and fits the Gaggia Classic Pro well. Only gripe is that it’s not very strongly magnetic, so the dosing funnel doesn’t stick very well. Minor gripe though, I love the shape of the handle and the quality of the wood is super nice.Editing review and increasing to 5 stars after having used this for a few weeks, because the basket it comes with is actually surprisingly great quality. I've tried the stock Gaggia basket and two IMS Nanotech baskets, and for whatever reason I make my best coffee with the basket this came with!

A lovely replacement for the plastic OEM version.
I love my Breville, but the plastic portafilter (and tamper) it comes with are hideous. This is a surprisingly nice replacement. I confirm the wood is as nice as it looks in the product photo. Additionally, the wood is inset with a threaded collet so it can be unscrewed if you want to wash the solid metal side of things. It comes with an additional double shot basket, as noted, and looks so, so much better on (or adjacent to) my machine. The one potential problem I note is that it's a bit tight when screwing into my brew head, but could be that things loosen up a bit with time (and the OEM unit it replaces might have worn some).Recommended.

5 stars for excellent customer service
Has a nice weight to it and love the walnut, the handle is very high quality and appears to be machined stainless steel, had some issues with it and customer service took care of me nicely.

Doesn't stand out enough to warrant the price gap
This is a nicely crafted portafilter, and it fits my Breville 870XL just fine. The wood is nice, the handle shape is nice, and it arrived in no time. But there are a few niggles.I definitely like this bottomless filter trend; you can see what's happening, and the filter itself is way easier to clear and clean than the one that comes with the espresso machine. But it really splatters coffee all over the place. This is a problem with all the bottomless filters, but I feel like the sides could be redesigned in a way to minimize this problem.Another issue is that if you don't have one of those special holders to put it into to load the grounds, then it will rock back and forth on your table surface. That could easily have been avoided if they had just flattened the bottom of the handle where it naturally rests. Also, note that the basket it comes with is larger than the original one, largely because the original has a tapered bottom, and this one has relatively straight sides. That may slightly affect how and how much you'll need to load your coffee, though I haven't noticed a huge taste difference in the output. It does definitely make it harder to knock out the puck, but I've actually taken to using the basket from the original portafilter. That also seems to help slightly with the splatter issue.I think I would have given this 4 stars...but nothing about this filter makes it so much better than the half-dozen others that you can find here that makes it worth such a price difference.

Stunning!
The media could not be loaded. The portafilter in walnut is genuinely stunning! It definitely gave my Breville barista express and coffee station an upgraded look!It fits really well and snug into the espresso machine, and works perfectly with my other accessories (including the IMS precision filter basket).
