Shadow & Storms: An epic romantic fantasy (The Legends of Thezmarr)

Complete Series - MUST READ
This series has completely taken over my life. I started out with this one on a random recommendation on booksta, and wow. This series is everything. Book 3 left us on yet another cliffhanger and Book 4 picked us up right there, ready to ROLL. Thea continues to be my favorite FMC - and especially now with her new power, she is ready to get back what's hers.Wilder is more and more and more of a freaking winner of an MMC every step of the way has Thea's back. He stands by her side and lets her be the warrior she was always meant to be.Yes, there are steamy scenes that are some of the BEST I've read, but the relationship between our MCs along the way is sweet, romantic, full on emotional, and makes those scenes that much better.Trauma is a big player here between both Thea's and Wilder's experiences at the end of book 3 and it was so impactful reading them trying to figure out how to navigate that together, along with finally discussing the fate that's been hanging between them throughout the series. And the SIDE CAST????? Literally have never read a better side cast - easily on the level of the inner circle and I'd argue better because they have so many different personalities. Kipp and Cal are absolutely adorable and wonderful, the truest of friends to our dear Thea, and always strike a beautiful balance between the comic relief and the fearsome warriors in their own right. Anya, Wren, Torj, even Vernich, are all interesting and hold their own within an already outstanding cast.Puh-lease read this series, because it is perfect. Everything you ever wanted.

great conclusion
This was probably the best conclusion to a series I’ve read this year. The storyline wrapped up beautifully- the losses made sense (weren’t placed in the storyline needlessly for dramatic effect). Very satisfying ending. Can’t wait for the next series in this world!

Epic Conclusion, Full of Emotion
Book 4 in The Legends of Thezmarr seriesI wish I could give this book more than 5*! The entire series is perfection. It captured my heart from book 1. This book is no exception. I'm not sure my words can fully express my love for Shadow & Storms. It kept me on the edge of my seat and on multiple occasions in tears, but I'll gladly re-read each book multiple times over. Scheuerer created an intriguing world.A high intensity, emotionally gripping fantasy with a battle-tested romance featuring plenty of action, adventure, humor, banter, tension, angst, desire, and love that pulled me in from page 1 and held me captive to the very last word. Thea and Wilder face constant struggles, but they along with their friends and allies are resolved to save their kingdom from the darkness that has taken hold. Impossible choices around each corner. Sacrifices to be made. Tears to be shed.Well-developed, strong characters who've changed and grown so much throughout the series. Intricately detailed world building. Captivating plot."But how can I regret anything? How can I be sorry when everything led me to you?"

Everything you need in an Epic series
This is the most amazing series. Period!!With the latest, and last (boo) book, Thea's time is running short to save the midrealms, as her name day is looming.Thea's progression and development from alchemist to badass female warrior is nothing short of inspiring. She's unapologetically brutal and fierce; she is cemented as one of my favorite FMCs ever. Wilder struggles with his own challenges and traumas yet he is always a step behind Thea, supporting her and ready to catch her if she stumbles while not undermining her own personal power. Helen has also created the most colorful side characters, Kipp and Cal being obvious favorites.I loved the transition of the relationship between Thea, Wren and Anya throughout the book. Learning who each other is as well as their strengths and weaknesses in order to reach a common goal of saving the midrealms.I knew back in Book 3, I was curious about Wren and Torj. THANKFULLY, there is a note from Helen at the end they are getting their own book. I imagine it will be a lot like "Slaying the Shadowprince," which is Drue and Talemir's story. Side note: if you haven't read that, do yourself a favor. You will get glimpses of young Wilder and a fully in the action, Mal.The Legends of Thezmarr is truly one of the best epic fantasy romance series out there. I will die on this hill.

should’ve been a trilogy
Cons: all the books need editing, longer than it had to be, and honestly the war finale was ho-hum. I didn’t do a review for every book, bc there was way too much wishy washy/back and forth nonsense going on that I almost DNF’d in the 2nd book.Pros: great story, great slow burn steam, great characters, love a map, will love to continue in this world.

Slow clap. An amazing conclusion to the Legends of Thezmarr series. Absolutely loved it! Was action packed right off the hop. There were several surprises I didn't see coming. Wilder and Thea are just perfection 👌. This epic romantic fantasy series has all my favorite things - rich complex world, detailed plot with mystery, characters you cant help but adore, beautifully painful love, the fiercest FMC, and one of the best found families. Helen is one of my all time fav authors!

Shadows & Storms book 4
Ahhhh this book! i've been waiting for it 4 months! it was so worth the wait, i love the characters, the story line, the struggles and happy moments and the funny moments even more, Kipp, Cal and Thea are the perfect group of friends never a dull moment with them together. i love the way the relationships grew, whish there was a sequel(there is a new series coming up next year perhaps some characters will be back)There was heartbreak, heartwarming and spicy moments too. This book felt well balanced with plot twists that i wasn't expecting. i recommend all 4 books but , personally i would read the Slaying the Shadow Prince as a prequel i did after because i only learned of it after finishing the first 3 books, but i understood Hawthorne better reading the prequel.it was an easy read, finished in 2 days .Happy Reading!!!

A magnificent ending to a wonderful series 🖤⚡
I didn't think I would love The Legends of Thezmarr this much before reading it! From the first chapter of book 1 (Blood and Steel) to the last line of book 4 (Shadow and Storms) I was HOOKED!This series is everything I wanted to read since I began reading fantasy 20 years ago : written by a woman, a lovely and rich world building, a fierce and reliable FMC, a swoon worthy and dreamy and wild MMC (he likes to rip clothes off !), the most lovable side characters EVER (I want them as friends so bad), magic, monsters, twists and subplots, a beautiful romance with the right amount of spice, found family, hope.I was kind of a mess when i finished series, I didn't want to leave my beloved characters. One of my fav series of all times (and I've read A LOT) that I'll re-read multiple times with great pleasure.

Amazing conclusion to a forever favourite series
This was an absolutely amazing conclusion to what has been one of the best romantasy series ever. Each book gets better and better and Shadow & Storms didn’t disappoint. From the very beginning it picks straight up where Fate & Furies ended and you are thrown straight away into action upon action the way Helen can bring you all the emotions possible within in just the first few pages just proves what an outstandingly good writer she is.The love story between Thea and Wilder is one of the most beautifully told I have ever read, these two will forever hold a piece of my heart. Alone they are a force but together they are a formidable pair and will literally burn the world down for the other. The way Wilder loves Thea is heartbreakingly beautiful he supports Thea and encourages her on the Journey she has taken from the very first book is amazing, I’ve loved seeing her character growth throughout each book.Everything I have come to love from the first book is still very much forefront in Storm & Shadows, the epic worldbuilding, one of the best found family’s you could ever want, banter and friendship that is so endearing, plot development that just keeps getting better and better, sisterhood and female representation that is so well written and one of the most beautifully written love stories that I have ever come across in Thea and Wilder.I’m so excited to see what comes next in this world and can’t wait to see what develops next for certain characters. I will be sad to say goodbye to Thea and Wilder but I am so happy that we are getting more from this epically beautifully written world that Helen has created.Thank you so much Helen for writing a forever favourite series

Epic and emotional conclusion
The fourth and final book in Helen Scheuerer's Legends of Thezmarr series is finally out, and I loved every second of it.The level of world building in these books is amazing. It's brutal and vibrantly written so you feel how vast the mid-realms are. I can't believe Thea and Wilder's story is over, but being able to see their growth, personally and as a couple, over the course of the books has been amazing. Their relationship has always held a wonderful blend of passion, loyalty and strength. They're able to support each other without taking away from themselves. Reading Thea's arc from alchemist to Warsword has been one of the best stories of female strength and power. She's brutal and fierce and I love her so much. Wilder is always behind Thea encouraging her to be the best she can be, even whilst dealing with his own darkness. Helen creates charming and engaging secondary characters that will also steal your heart. Cal and Kipp are obvious favourites. The female bonds of sisterhood are explored and evolve between Thea, Wren, and Anya for the duration of the book. We get to see their vulnerabilities as newly acquainted siblings, to how they change, being able to accept what's happened previously, working towards becoming better versions of themselves and realising they're better together. There's plenty of action and tension that will have you flipping through the pages to the epic conclusion. I loved how everything came together and you can see all the pieces from the previous books woven into this book. I'm so glad we get come back to the mid-realms for another adventure, and I can't wait to see where the story goes next.
