Q: Does the silicone item retain the cooking smell from item cooked? If so, hoe do you get odor out?

Mine arrived, yesterday, and it smells VERY strongly of something like washing powder. Washing and airing didn’t remove it and I baked it at 160 degrees (convection) for 10min and the smell went through the house, even with the back door and window were open (in kitchen). It’s not 100% silicone, so the smell is likely to be from the plastic used as the filler. I’m disgusted with OXO and won’t be purchasing anything else with their brand name on it.

you could but OXO makes a yellow one that is better for eggs #11244700
