Great Transmission Cooler
I bought this cooler to replace the Hayden 679 I had on my 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser. The Hayden is a great cooler, and I have no complaints. I just wanted to try a bigger cooler. Height and width are slightly bigger than the Hayden, but it is about twice as thick. It lowered the trans fluid, on average, 10-15 degrees. The one thing I really like about this cooler is that it does not have fins. On a trip to Joshua Tree, I had driven through a swarm of bugs. When I got home I blasted the cooler with water and cleaned all the bugs off. With a finned cooler you usually have to clean from the back of the cooler forward to get all the little parts that got into the fins. With this cooler just hit it with the garden hose and you're done. The one, and only, thing I didn't like too much is the thin metal that the bosses for the fittings are attached to. Backing up the boss with a wrench when attaching a fitting is a MUST. Otherwise you'll probably twist the boss right off of the cooler.Overall, this is a great buy. It does its job, cleans up easily and looks cool. Even with the thin metal holding the fitting bosses, I would recommend this cooler. Just don't forget to back up the bosses.

worth evry penny and more
Great unit, I is large, will need to make sure it will fit and with enough clearance for air to flow. This is the best upgrade I have ever used on a car. Had to build brackets from aluminum sticks from Home Depot to get the job done right. Installed this unit on my 2008 Saturn VUE and I love it. It feels and drives lot better. You will notice the difference. I didn’t get this for towing or anything like that, I just dive up many hills on my daily commute, 150 to 200 miles a day and I noticed the powerful and comfortable shifting. I did not bypass the radiator with this install, I let the transmission oil run into the radiator for first cooling and then go to this cooler for more cooling before returning to the transmission. The ports on the unit are larger than the standard transmission ports guarantying no restriction of flow. It is light weight but can get heavy once full of oil so I recommend not attaching to radiator or AC condenser and to leave room for air flow.

Excellent as an aftercooler for an air compressor
I'm using this, along with a 220V electric fan blowing through it, to cool the air coming out of my air compressor pump (3.9HP, 125 PSI max). After about an hour of steady use, it's dropping the temperature from around 172F at the compressor head down to 70F at the tank inlet.Almost all the moisture condenses out and is separated with a Norgen air/water separator. After painting an entire car, I drained my tank and maybe a tablespoon of water came out. Without the cooler and air/water separator, it would have been many cups of condensed water.Be careful with the fittings. Use a wrench on the cooler side while tightening against it to prevent damaging the cooler. I damaged my first one when replacing the compressor pump, but this was obviously my own fault and not an issue with the oil cooler.

Better than OEM
Installed on a 2005 Pontiac GTO after The 4th transmission 4L60E rebuildbecause my clutch slip from overheating.......Before \ the OEM trans cooler temp was between ( 203 ~ 230 f ) ......After \ i Canceled the OEM cooler and connected my trany directly to B&M coolerResult = the temp went down to ( 140 - 176 f ) .....then i installed ( DPT 9 Inches Ten Blades Blue Electric Radiator Cooling Slim Fan )and hook it up infront of the Oil Cooler and connected it directlyResult = Temp went down to ( 120 ~ 160 f )PROs:1- Price2- Size3- PerformanceCONs :there is no Mounting Kit included , you must buy it seperatedfor me i think it worth the 5 stars for the great performance

Keeps it cool!
I use this as an oil cooler for an air cooled motor. The large ports make it easy to get the value thru the cooler.

Bypass for Dodge Ram
There are two transmission coolers on my Dodge Ram diesel. The water cooled one sprung a leak. Fortunately the transmission was not contaminated by engine coolant, nor the engine with transmission fluid. Salt had also taken a toll on the cooling lines. The leaking cooler had a price tag of $1000.00 and the total price at Cochran Dodge came to almost $3000.00, parts and labor. After doing some research on the problem, I decided to bypass the faulty cooler with the B&M which I mounted to the fuel tank heat shield and replaced the cooling lines with transmission cooling hose. By the way, the cooling lines I replaced were part steel and part hose. The metal parts of the lines were in terrible condition but the hose parts were fine so I'm not concerned about having all hose between the cooler in front of the radiator and the B&M cooler mounted on the heat shield and the transmission. It took almost 25 feet of cooler hose. Very pleased with the B&M cooler! Thanks, Sandy's lesser half

Keeping me cool
I went a bit overboard on the size for my work truck, took some work to get it to fit in place, and it was absolutely worth it, my Transmission is staying nice and cool when pushing or pulling heavy loads. I will not blow another Transmission due to overeating again.Highly recommend this product
