I purchase this for my 7yr. old Grandson, he likes to paint as he has Art class in school. And this type of painting is a little challenging but still it's painting by the numbers. I had purchase one for myself so he has a painting partner so he can see that I'm being challenged to. The painting doesn't have to be done all at once. He is able to see his progress and appreciate his accomplishments.It's a great gift for any child or adult who likes and enjoys painting. The different types of paintings gives you a feeling of creating your own masterpiece on canvas. The paints themselves are not water colors, these are oil base.I found that they are very affordable and is a good hobby to indulge.

This was an excellent gift for my 9 year old. Easy enough for her to do on her own but difficult enough that it took a while to finish. She loved it so much she was immediately asking for another one as soon as she finished.

I appreciate that the canvas is rolled, no creases! The canvas, though, seems like cardboard, or orange peel, rather than quality canvas, it's difficult to have the paint look smooth. Perhaps I'll update after I've finished this painting- if the paint doesn't appear splotchey

My son (11) wanted a paint by number and he loves birds of prey, so this was perfect. The reason I gave it 4 stars though is the background color is more of a yucky brown than a black or dark brown. Otherwise, he loved painting it and it's on his wall now.

Easy to build easel good size and easy to read numbers, paints good quality, pots were initially difficult to open. Great overall for a beginner child or adult
