Concluding episodes from the fourth series of the American television detective drama, about the team of forensic specialists who use their clinical skills to solve the most violent crimes. In 'Suckers', a young woman found drained of blood suggests the presence of a group of modern-day vampires. 'Paper or Plastic' sees Officer Fromansky (David Andrews) involved in a grocery store shootout, but Grissom (William Petersen) doesn't believe his version of events. In 'Early Rollout', the team investigate the killing of a club owner and his wife. In 'Getting Off', the body of a professional clown is found stuffed inside a tyre in a dangerous part of town. 'XX' sees the team investigating the murder of a female prison inmate, tied to the underside of a crashed prison bus. In 'Bad to the Bone', Grissom is violently attacked by a suspect, who dies suddenly when subdued. 'Bad Words' sees the team investigating a house fire, where the discovery of a girl's body turns the investigation from arson to murder. 'Dead Ringer' sees the team suspecting several policemen for the murder of a runner in the force's annual Desert Relay Race. In 'Turn of the Screws', a roller coaster accident at a fun fair leaves six people dead, although the team discover that one of the victims was dead before the accident happened. 'No More Bets' sees the CSI team looking into the murder of two college students who were attempting to scam a casino, but Grissom removes Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) from the case because of her personal involvement. Finally, in 'Bloodlines', the CSI team believe they have an open and shut case on the rape of a casino worker, until they realise that the evidence is lying.

a must-buy
yes, this is a blatant fan-review.It's also William Petersen at his best. That man gets better with every season of CSI he does, never falling back on mannerisms or "actor's shorthand" (as I like to call it - a signature gesture that will win him fans) but always being intense and totally in character. Also, the stories still are unique and the gimmicks used to solve the crimes interesting and new, too, but as a fan you'd know that already. There is a special surprise though: you get a bonus-dvd with the first episode of the New-York-franchise: Gary Sinise in a sneak preview of CSI-NY is a nice add-on to the special features one is used to on any CSI-compilation.

The happening season
Season four of CSI is where Things Happen, relationships are hinted at through brief lines of careful dialogue, and the Team matures. Very few light or funny moments, all serious storylines, and there's Hodges too. Somewhat dry compared to previous seasons, but binge viewing helps. Plus, it's been 20 years since it was in TV and you'll have forgotten most of the plots, so like watching it new! Drudge lab work set to music, great stuff.

Come back and enjoy the foundation episodes.
As it is coming to the end, CSI Las Vegas' earlier seasons with Grissom at the head are the most interesting as they focus on the cases first and personalities second. With Grissom's departure in Season 9, the dynamics changed completely and the series flounders looking for a new lead character. Come back and enjoy the foundation episodes!
