I bought this shade to replace my old one which was smaller and showing signs of UV damage and general wear and tear after about 4-5 years of use during California summer (I only use it during summer months). The instructions says I need to have certain distance from the anchoring points to each straps attached to the shade corner loops. The metal rings came installed on the shade fabric looks sturdy. I used the nylon straps included with this product to dry fit this shade in my space to figure out the distance from each anchor points and cut appropriate size metal cable wire and turnbuckle hardware. My patio space didn’t allow for anchoring it as described in the instructions so it sagged significantly and didn’t look good. So, I decided to put brass grommets at every 2 feet distance on the perimeter and thread a coated wire cable through them to stretch it - it seems to do the trick. I also used this cable to hang my outdoor patio lights from Costco. So far everything looks great. Let’s see how it holds up over time. I will update this review as needed.

I used 4- 4×4 treated post 3-1/2 ft in ground with concrete. eye bolts at top, 1/2 dia. Marine rope with dog leash hooks on the ropes. Threaded ropes through eye bolts down to flag pole rope tie offs. Pull each rope tight then attach to rope tie off. I just added 3ft on each length × width for ropes and hardware. The size they give you seems to be very accurate. I got a 12 × 16 and added 3ft to each and spaced my post 15 × 19. Easy to put up and take down. Looks great especially with the 1/2 marine rope I got off Amazon! Couldn't be happier!

So far so good. I put it up a couple of days ago and it providing good shade. Love the color as well. Feels like good quality and the price was great. This is at 12x16.

I had a bit of an alternate use for this shade. Just wanted to obfuscate a neighbor a bit using my existing overhead lighting pole fory deck.I like the look and the fact that I can take it down when I don't need it. I may add another one when the trees lose their leaves.

I bought this to put on my duck enclosure and plan to buy another one. It works very well, easy to install and is cheaper than most other brands. It has held up to one of the hottest arizona summers we've had with 30+ days of 110 degree weather and there are no signs of it falling apart.

Makes a perfect covered area for our back porch! The only thing is, this is not completely water proof. A light rain, you won’t feel too badly. But if it is a heavy rain, it will come through. However it’s awesome at blocking shade, leaves, etc.

The material is cheap, looks cheap, basically just a dollar store blue tarp, but grey.

although this did not work for my area, it was good quality and I would have been happy with it, if I had been able to use it
