I switched to propane lanterns many years ago because it was much easier to light when you come into a dark deer camp, but in those days propane was more expensive to use until I started refilling the throw away bottles. The problem came after refilling a few times the bottles would start to leak Very slowly and you would lose a pound of propane. I haven't had a chance to use these brass caps yet, but I'm hoping they will stop the leaking long enough use them. If they do propane will still be cheaper (and safer) to use than coleman fuel. I like them. They are a little pricey, but hey, their solid brass.

They look well made. Just installed them so don't know how well they work but the quality looks very good. I feel better about having these rather than the plastic caps that come with the bottles.

These work perfectly. I bought a few to replace the plastic caps on my propane tree (they always seem to go missing), as well as to put on any partial 1 lb tanks. Easily identifies opened bottles so they get used up first.Would be a little bit better if they had a way to attach the cap to the tree when not screwed on (chain wrapped around tree, or some sort of wrap). Now to find a male version for the bottom of the top half of the tree...

We ordered two of these brass screw on caps. They fit the one pound propane bottles perfectly, and are much better than the cheap plastic ones. Feel better knowing the bottles are properly sealed. The order arrived on time and in good condition. We were so pleased we ordered two more.

You only need them after a cylinder has been used and propane remains as the valve may not completely close all the time. This will seal any minor leaks and keep you safe!

Great idea and seems to be a well made product! I keep several 1 lb. bottles of propane in my garage as they tell us the Northwest could experience a big earthquake at any time. I worried about the bottles leaking, so these strong twist on caps are just the thing for me. So much better than the flimsy plastic caps the bottles come with.

Works great and provides a good tight seal as far as I can tell. Decided to start using after other 1lb propane users said they had issues with the valve not completely closing after use. Too many sources of flame/spark in the motorhome so this provides me with peace of mind.
