All the good to know before buying, all the bad, and comparable (or lack thereof) alternatives
Okay, so here is my review of the Ninja Chef blender. First the bottom line: It is freaking awesome! Of course no purchase decision is made in a vacuum, but rather is based on perception of choices. With that in mind I will address a common theme found throughout reviews of this product. A lot of reviews poo poo this blender by way of citing that the Vitamix line of blenders is better. I'm not arguing that. I can't because (one) I do not have a Vitamix blender to compare it to, and (two) there are some pretty well done comparisons online that definitively show the Vitamix to be the superior machine. Now if they were being offered at the same (or even close to the same) price point I would return my Ninja and order a Vitamix. The thing is, the cheapest Vitamix blender with anywhere close to the same features costs $450. The model with the same features as the Ninja Chef weighs in at an alarming $650! That's 4.25 times the cost. Yeah, a $100,000 Mercedes is a better car than a $25,000 Honda, but it costs 4 times as much. A trip aboard the space shuttle would make for a better vacation than a weekend at the lake, but there is a reason you do not see people booking flights with Mr. Musk's company. In what world do these reviewers live? I wish I lived there. Hey if money is no object to you, buy the $650 dollar model. For that matter, buy the most expensive industrial model you can. I would if I could. I am not aware of a line of blenders that offers the same features of the Chef at the same price point (if it hasn't been clear enough yet, that last part is VERY IMPORTANT). Anyway, back to the Chef. There are some really good things to say about this blender. There are some bad things to say as well. I will address them all. First, it's automatic. That is, you tell it what you are blending (not literally tell it, you have to press buttons :) and it just does it. It cycles on and off until it's done, and the timer tells you how long it will take to do it. The results are great. There are a range of automatic blend types to choose from that take out all of the guess work. You can operate it manually too. It is easy to clean, and the auto clean function works well. Now, for the bad. It is pretty much all plastic. The drive gear that the pitcher connects to is plastic. The gear on the pitcher too. The pitcher itself if plastic. I was surprised by this one. The cheap Oster blender that this replaced (stopped working) had a glass pitcher. Glass is better than plastic (an obvious statement, but not so obvious to Ninja?). I would have preferred to pay an extra $20 and had a glass pitcher. As to the question of noise- It's loud! It is 1500 watts though, so perhaps it is only fair to Ninja to state that it is 1500 watts loud. That kind of wattage doesn't come quietly. Maybe it does on a Vitamix? It could only be accomplished with sound-deadening material inside the blender if in fact they are quiet though, as powerful electric motors tend to be loud. It doesn't require ear protection or anything like that, but it lets you know it's there. Noise level is the only thing I did not rate in the part of the review process that lets you give stars to different aspects of the product- just didn't seem fair to dock points for being as loud as it is powerful. And... well, that's about it. I give the Ninja Chef 5/5 stars. My review is based on my initial impression, having just received the blender a few days ago, and I will update my review if/as my experiences with the blender differ from my initial impression. Thank you for reading.

Good deal, but loud.
So far this blender is very worth the moneyPros: cheaper than name brand alternatives (vitamix, nutribullet) it blends quickly and evenlyCons:Very loud, the exhaust smells a bit like melted plastic but dissipates quickly. And cleaning isn’t as easy as i hoped, you can’t just throw soapy water in it and turn it on, it needs at least a little elbow grease with a sponge/towel to get everything.Overall I’m happy with my purchase and have already recommended it to others in my personal life.

I love it so far
I love it so far. I wasn't able to find many video reviews on it. Except for ones that seemed very scripted and like they were doing more of a promotion for other products. Made me feel like they were being paid in some way. It is really loud though. I've only made smoothies with it so far but it works so much better than those cheap blenders you can buy for $30.00 to $50.00 or so. It made a super thick smoothie in about 2 min no problem. It took me like 10 min to make a thick one with my old blender. It made a regular smoothie in less than one minute . I have used the cleaning feature as well. It actually works really well which I love because I hate cleaning blenders . I'm really liking it so far. If anything changes I will update.

It's a work horse
I absolutely LOVE this blender BUT there is one HUGE set back for me as an ice cream shop! It is SUPER loud! I tell my employees to make sure no one is at the counter because you won't be able to hear them. :( It works great though and has lasted a long time...... we used it ALOT till I bought a Blendtec because it was just too loud to use in our shop

Love this blender
I've had a ninja blender for a while but this is my favorite, it is super powerful and I love the large blades which are easy to clean.

Powerful but loud
This is a beast of a blender. It does sound like a small engine is in your kitchen. However, the cleaning features on this device make all that noise worthwhile.

This is our second one, but it’s missing the cup blades
Great product, don’t know why they changed it

Ninja CT810 Chef
It's very sturdy and powerful, hence it's a little loud. Our family loves this machine. I love the IQ function that makes cooking easier; no guess game. But, my favorite function is the auto clean. It's like a power wash with one touch of button. That makes you want to make more smoothies!
