Natural Dyes

I had hoped for an accurate rendering of the colours used in clothing worn in ancient times (e.g. Roman, mediaeval, etc) because of my hobby, painting miniature figures and I intended to use the colours as a guide. That it didn't help my quest is not the fault of the book and to be fair it wasn't written with hobbyists in mind nor is it aimed at my very specific requirements; even so, it is a excellent book and perhaps one day someone will write a book on the subject of natural dyes as they were applied to clothing through the ages. It would be satisfying to achieve the correct shades likely to have been used.

Beautifully illustrated and inspiring to have a go. Clear concise instructions and excellent ideas on laying out a Dyer’s Garden.

Very handy little guide for anyone interested in using natural dyes.

I've been looking for a book on natural dyes for ages, but could only find USA-centric books. Both the authors of this book live in the south of England and the book covers plants that I recognise. Yippee.
