Rugged calipers
I was looking for a set of durable calipers for the garage for dirtier applications when this guy came along as an item eligible for review. So far it's doing a good job of striking a balance between quality and durability without breaking the bank.To get it out of the way, the only issue I've noticed with this is a bit of a perceptible input lag. I'm not sure if this is due to some of the waterproofing in here or what, but sometimes there's a 0.25-0.5 second delay before the screen updates when you move the jaws of the calipers. This hasn't really been an issue for me since I'm usually checking for good mechanical contact long before I check the value of the readout, but I figured it might be worth mentioning. Now about that IP67 rating. It wouldn't be right to give this a positive review without at least abusing this thing a little. I submerged this in the sink with a rescued gage pin to check some repeated measurements, and even after letting it sit for 20 minutes it still carried on like a champ. I towel dried it afterwards and have not noticed any issues since. That's a pretty solid win in my book.

Mostly accurate
Testing its accuracy with gage blocks, I found that it was reading some of my gage blocks a thou over nominal. It's a B-grade gage block set, but it certainly should still be thou-accurate. So I wrung two of the worst together and measured them and the calipers actually measured under what it should have. The only conclusion I can come to is that the calipers can be off by a thou. I think it's probably based on absolute distance. Maybe some areas of the stator are slightly off.In addition, the slider has a hump sticking out to the left that sits proud of the movable jaw. If you're measuring with the object fully below the slider, that doesn't make any difference, but if you're in an awkward position and have to have the object tilted towards the slider, it can get in the way. (See attached photo.)The slider also has a tiny amount of twisting freedom around the stator, enough to feel the tips come apart, but just barely. Probably not a big deal unless you're measuring something very small at the very tip of the jaws. Those things aside, it reads in half-thou, 128ths, and 0.01mm. It seems pretty consistent between readings of the same object. It automatically turns on when you move the slider. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. It seems convenient, but it also feels like a way for the battery to run down more quickly. The battery is a CR2032, and it comes with one installed, plus an additional one. The scale is relative, not absolute, but it remembers where you were and since it automatically turns on when you start moving it, it acts as if it were absolute, until you remove the battery. It's rated at IP67. I ran it under a tap for a minute or so and it didn't have any issues other than it was hard to get it dry. I didn't try it with any other liquids. The locking screw works well. The buttons are not mushy. The electronics body feels like cheap metallized plastic. There is a metal thumbwheel for fine-ish adjustment, but it's held by a hook that's part of the plastic electronics housing, and I'm sure it will break off at some point. There's an incremental mode, but when you leave incremental, there's no way to get back to that datum; you have to start a new one.It comes with a plastic case that actually holds it pretty securely. I don't think it would do much to help in a fall, but it'll definitely keep it from getting banged up in a drawer. The included instructions say that there's a Bluetooth model, too, if you're interested in that.

A Significant Upgrade
I've upgraded from a cheap plastic caliper to this steel one, and it's a massive improvement. The smooth, precise movement makes measuring a breeze. The numbers are clear and easy to read. The included case is handy for storage and the extra battery is a thoughtful touch. It feels like a tool that'll last for years. I'm really impressed with the build quality. It's clear they put care into making this caliper.

Great Digital Caliper
I ordered this digital caliper not really knowing what to expect. However, I have to say that I am glad I took a chance and picked it up. The caliper arrived quickly and exactly as described/pictured. It comes in a very nice hard plastic case, with a user manual, two batteries, and a tiny screwdriver. It's held firmly inside the case with two hard plastic poles that extend down from the top of the case tipped with rubber. The caliper itself seems to be well made with no visible defects or rough edges/surfaces.I would definitely recommend this digital caliper to anyone.

Great Calipers For Both Professional And At Home Hobby And Repair Use!
As a Vine Voice Customer, I received this product for free from Amazon Vine. This is an objective review based on my use of this product.I ordered the stainless steel digital calipers for my husband Jim to use in both architectural site investigations and in his home workshop. These calipers have come in handy for both uses; very pleased with ease of use, too. - Durable stainless steel construction. - Helpful instruction manual. - Large vivid readout. - Accurate measurements. - Comes with a durable storage box for storage and transportation of the calipers. - The required 2 CR2032 batteries are included with the set. That's a thoughtful touch.A great value, too. I highly recommend this product.

3 stars for with the price
These calipers have a lot of features I have seen before and I have used a lot of calipers in my life, mostly ole school mechanical ones. That honestly is the only thing I like about these. I do not like the thumbwheel on these, and it is the first that really are cruddy. They do not have a gear to scroll it, they are two flat surfaces. Slip n slide. So trying to fine tune but not push n pull, well ya cant. anyone who has experience with calipers will certainly understand this. The gauge does not move instantly with the movement. It has a delay in the reading which I find annoying and my old HArborfreight $20 pair doesnt delay. They seem well made aside that but the price? Like I said harbor freight sells them for $20 and up and I see no plus to this one, but I do see negatives.....
