Comfortable and waterproof
I wanted a pair of everyday lightweight boots for summer dog walking, they had to be waterproof, comfortable and modestly priced these ticked all the boxes. Have worn them for two weeks they fit like glove and the heel grip system works, they have mid size toe box, measurements available on Keen website.Have walked through long wet grass and hosed them off to clean them, no sign of water penetration so far. They look robust and the smooth Nubuck looks good after applying G-wax. Probably not the most popular colour hence a good price but who cares when they are wet and muddy!Update; have had the boots for 28 months and used them regulary, estimate over 1500 miles walking, sadly they have reached the end of their useful life. The faux rubeerrised textile rand was the weak point. started to crack and diintegrate after about 18 months but has now failed structurally. Amazingly, although the waterproof liner is exposed .the boots are still waterproof!

New design doesn't last.
Sadly, the new design is flawed and they don't last. Both boots have split in the same place after 12 months. Other than the split the boots are still in good condition but obviously they are no longer water proofThese are my second pair of these boots, they are really comfortable and with a wide toe box (which is why I bought another pair when my first pair fell apart after a lot of walking).

So far so good
To preface, I arrived in the UK a couple weeks before a trip to Iceland, and I found out the hiking boots I brought were not fitted as good as I thought they were. So, I needed a new pair of boots that were waterproof, warm, and most importantly, comfortable because I'd have no time to break them in. Due to the immense praise I read about the Keen's comfort and since I have wider feet, I decided to take my chance on them. After owning them for about a month now, they are extremely comfortable. There was a day where they were slightly uncomfortable, but, after figuring out the best way to knot them for my foot, they were great again. I also tested them in a few rivers and waterfalls, and they kept my feet dry; however, it was not any intense wetting on them. I am aware of the persistent issue of the soles coming apart, so I will update this review if I get to that point. Keen does have a 1-year warranty on the boots though, so if that issue does come up during the 1-year period, they can be replaced for free. My experience with these boots so far has been great, and I really enjoy these boots.Update: Unfortunately, after only two months of use, the sole on the left boot started to delaminate. While I did do some pretty tough hikes, it was nothing that should cause the sole to come apart so early on. However, I did a warranty claim with Keen through Amazon, and I was refunded for the boots very easily, which is why I'm only taking off one star. If you are like me and still want comfortable boots with wide toe boxes, I would try going for the Targhee IVs, which have a lifetime warranty on the soles delaminating.

Dont last DO NOT BUY!
Yeah I should have remembered. I had a pair of these 2 years year and as a lot of you are finding out they dont do wet grass but then after 3 years of trying the only boots I can find that do wet grass are wellingtons but you try walking 5 miles in wellies everyday!Anyway besides that I risked trying them again and yep they have already cracked at the toe and Ive not warn them everyday because the weather has been mainly dry since purchasing, however these are advertised as Hiking boots so by that very definition you walk in them for long periods of time, no? So again not fit for purpose, comfortable yes, need breaking in no, nice looking but totally flawed design and material choice. DO NOT BUY! If I'd brought them from a shoe shop as I did before I could have taken them back again they have 12 month returns but on here Na! I'll try contacting direct.UPDATE KEEN got back to me within 24hrs : You mention that you have bought your shoes at Amazon- an authorised retailer. KEEN has agreements with all authorised retailers in place that they will help their KEEN customers with warranty claims. That’s why we would kindly ask you to get in contact with the customer service of Amazon (via e-mail or if possible via phone). We understand that there is no direct link on the Amazon website for submitting a warranty request. However, if you contact Amazon Customer Service and specifically request a warranty inquiry instead of reporting or returning a defective item, you can initiate the warranty process through Amazon. It's important to note that Amazon is contractually obligated to accept warranty requests for our products up to one year from the date of purchase. This means you can address your warranty concerns even after the initial purchase.Spoke with Amazon and they are on their way back and money is refunded on receipt. I've now brought a all leather pair based on KEENS reply, guarantee and customer service.

great quality
these boots look very well made and feel like great quality, they are wide fitting and very light weight which suits me, only worn a couple of times for short walks until I get used to them, like other reviews I have found that they are a little uncomfortable on the ankles, but I expect this to ease after breaking them in properly, great boots for the price.

Second pair to fall apart in less than 3 months use.
As others have said the Rand area cracks up and falls off exposing the water proof member underneath. I thought my last pair could have done this because of the ledergris polish / proofer I had used so I bought another pair to give them a chance. These have just been cleaned with water and same has happened. Shame because the fit etc. is good for my feet. I have an old type of Keen shoe that is still going well so the quality has slipped over the years. My wife bought a pair of Keen Shoes on my recommendation from another outlet and they have same problem, so it is widespread . She had only warn them in the dry on paved surfaces for less than 5 times.Do not buy!
