An excellent and TRUE barley grass JUICE powder
I've been using barley and wheat grass juice for about 20 years. I use to grow a lot of it myself, juice it, and drink it. In recent years I have travelled extensively and don't have the circumstances for growing and juicing barley/wheat grass. (from this point on I'll simply refer to barley grass, although all statements also apply to wheat grass). In recent years I have watched a multitude of cheap barley/wheat grass powders make their way onto the market. Please note that most of these products are, in my opinion, next to useless. They are made from whole dried barley/wheat grass--cellulose and all. The primary concept of having barley/wheat grass is to have the juice, free of the almost indigestible cellulose fibre of the leaf. All the early research on the many benefits of barley grass was from ingesting the pure, fresh juice. Then a process was developed (in Japan, as far as I am aware) to spray dry the juice whilst keeping most of the enzymes and nutrients intact. That processed involved using using simple sugars as a medium to help the juice turn to powder. The result is a high quality product, but one that is not pure juice powder.Fast forward many years, and I come across the grass juice products from Pure Planet. As you will see from my review on Just Barley - Organic Barley Juice - 80 gram - Powder I give it five stars.Having used 5 or so jars of this product from Now Foods I have to say the product seems identical enough that I can't tell the difference. However, Now Foods gives you 118 grams for (currently) around $20 on Amazon. The Pure Planet product on Amazon is (currently) around $14 to $15. When you do the math, the Now Foods product is almost half the price.Obviously the many barley grass powders (not JUICE powder) as going to be a lot cheaper, but I really don't think it's worth it. Much of the nutrients in those powders are still going to be bound up in hard-to-digest cellulose, and they are far less concentrated. I've tried a few and they taste pretty poor and don't give me the lift I get from JUICE powder.

China as a Source
have been using NOW's Barley Grass Powder for over 8 years without any issues. Recently they changed the bottle, however the product is a lighter green color and leaves no green file on a glass cup when mixed with just water and has a chalky taste. This was not the only bottle..we tried several bottles we purchased. I called NOW customer support and they transferred me to the Nutrient Department and I spoke with a person who I will not named. I asked where the product is sourced from and he told me the US and China. He could not tell me when it was sourced from China. I am done with this company's products and have found another company who sources from Utah, USA only found on Amazon!

Good stuff
All the NOW products I've used are consistently high quality and "clean". This powder is VERY fine and tends to clump when added to drinks. I imagine that wouldn't be a problem with smoothies and adding to a blender. Still, it's great quality, tastes fine to me and competitively priced.

Green when juice is scarce
Great stuff for what it is--and isn't, namely fresh. The barley is grown, said NOW, in Utah, which is good news. Dissolves fully, and tastes great, great if yer an adult and don't need even your green drinks to be sweet sticky shakes. I sometimes add this barley juice powder to fresh vej juice, to rev up the clorofill. I also mix with spirulina, and I only recommend Nutrex from Hawaii. WIth those two green powders you don't need expensive and dubiously beneficial green drinks, loaded with all kinda filler, such as probiotics (which will die when exposed repeatedly to air), minerals, enzymes, lecithin, stevia, etc.

I like Green Foods "Green Magma" better...
I have been using Green Foods "Green Magma" but I decided to give this a try because the price was better and the advertisement said no fillers. I usually mix two teaspoons of barley grass juice powder in 4 to 6 oz of unfiltered apple juice and I use a shaker cup. This product clumps and does not easily dissolve. I end up with lumps no matter how much I try to mix it. I've tried to whisk a small amount of powder and juice together into a paste before adding more juice but the result is the same. I also find it to be more bitter than the "Green Magma" I have been using. I think the brown rice powder in the "Green Magma" must make the barley grass juice more palatable. I will go back to the Green Foods product after this bottle is finished.

Strong Flavor
I use this and I will stick with it for the price and convenience. I have never used another barley grass juice powder so I cannot compare brands. I do use a lot of wheat grass juice powder and that definitely taste nicer. I like the packaging and the shipping was great. I have never had one bit of trouble with this company. The juice is strong so if you are new to green juices start slow with this, or maybe start with wheat grass juice..this is a bit more "hard core" if you will. I have bought a second one already and will continue to use it.

Great product...great price!
Great product and a great price! I use it to keep my gout away and it really works! It alkalizes your body and helps with lots of illnesses. It doesn't mix too well with liquids though, unless it is blended. You could stir it with a spoon all day and it just clumps. But I have a tiny magic bullet blender and just mix it with water or juice for a few seconds and it mixes great!

I did not notice ant difference
I didn’t feel any difference. I had a different brand a few years ago, and I felt much more energetic when I used that brand.

Good
Good but I wouldn't buy from here again as I've come across some in stores that are a lot cheaper.
