Truly a masterpiece. I spent an hour in REI, staring into a mirror and flipping between three finalist hats, two of which were Tilleys and one of which was only forty bucks. After much deliberation, the Mash-Up hat in sand won the prize, and I was glad to pay more than double because it looks and feels that good. They didn't have my gargantuan size, though, so I popped over to the 'Zon and placed my order here.The Mash-Up is dashing, rakish, and wears like an old wingman right out of the box. Actually it didn't come in a box, it came in a flat bubble wrap envelope, which I actually considered a big plus, because now I won't hesitate to let it rumple up in the bottom of a duffle bag. It looks a bit like linen, which means it looks great rumpled, but the brim is stiff enough to do its job. The predominantly hemp and cotton blend is soft and airy, and it's light weight but feels plenty tough. According to the literature, it can take regular machine washing! Maybe the coolest part is the lifetime warranty, 'cause I'm no stranger to danger, and this hat ain't cheap. So I'll probably be needing that.

I first saw this hat a couple of years ago and put off purchasing one because I have an over-abundance of hats. I recently toured China and wore one of my other non-Tilley hats which I ended up regretted. Getting ready to take another overseas trip so I ordered this Tilley Endurables TMH55 Mash-Up Airflo and am glad I did - what a great hat: Very comfortable, stays put on your head, Tilley quality and very stylish! This along with two of my other Tilley hats are the only ones I will now travel with!

Tilley hats are not inexpensive, but are well worth the money. This hat was purchased to keep permanently in our second home so that I always have one near me They are very comfortable and breathe well even on very warm days. I have traveled extensively with the hat flattened in my bag. I just pop the crown out and it’s good to go and looks great. I highly recommend it!

Tilley hats are the best hats I've ever owned. I have several in different colors. If you use the hat sizing chart on Tilley's website the hats fit snugly. After my first hat I ordered the others a size larger (7-3/8 rather than 7-1/4) because I prefer my hat to fit just a bit looser. These hats can be crushed flat for packing and return to their original shape. They are always stylish. They can be hand washed if they get dirty or sweaty. I wear one of my Tilleys constantly when I am outside to protect my bald scalp from the sun. Tilley hats are a bit expensive, but they are worth the price. I highly recommend them.

I love this hat! It is going to become my go-to hat for 3-season wear around town, and camping in the Northwestern forests. I'll try it for traveling to moderate climates, and test its crushability. I am confident though, that I could soak it and dry it to shape. Shrinkage should be little or none; according to the label inside the hat, it is made from recycled yarns: 29% hemp, 28% cotton, 36% polyester, 7% rayon. I measured my head tightly at 22-1/2 inches, and the size 7-5/8 fits loosely as Tilley recommends, but comfortably. (BTW, I discovered during my shopping that you can convert head measurement to hat size by dividing by the mathematical constant Pi, roughly 22/7. In other words, a head 22 inches around theoretically takes a hat size 7.) The like the brown color too, which is greyish enough to be fairly neutral.

This is my third Tilley. First one was lost overboard after being hit in the head with a violently flapping jib sail on a sailboat. I foolishly did not have the strap in place. The second was stolen. I love Tilley hats. This is my first Mash-up. The previous two were of the same design (LTM5) which I liked because of the medium wide brim, ventilation and it is crushable. I can stuff it in by daypack and it retains its shape even after a washing.

I like the weight of the hat, but for some reason during periods of heavy perspiration, the sweatband redirects the perspiration rather than absorbing it. I like the overall design, but it looks like a redesign may be needed.

This is my third Tilley and it's as super as the first two. I only wish had one when I was a young kid striving for a glorious tan when skin cancer was not on the radar. I'm a golfer in Hawaii so lots of sun protection is mandatory. Tilley has saved my face and "receding" hairline. A great investment!
