Deploying ACI: The complete guide to planning, configuring, and managing Application Centric Infrastructure

Excellent book. This answers many questions and has guidance someone would have/seek whether they are new or experienced with ACI. It also touches on subjects that haven't been very well documented until now. Highly recommended whether you are a customer, partner, or vendor.

The author has trouble focusing on a topic and explaining it to completion. One paragraph he is talking about L2 Out and the next topic is titled Basic Gui. Really? Since it's one of the few books out there on ACI I give it three stars but it's really a two star book.

It's good, provided the in depth into i was looking for with our new aci deployment. I would definitely recommend.

Must read book.. you will have in depth knowledge of ACI technology

To start, I will say I wouldn't recommend this as an "intro" book, but if you have a general foundation of what ACI is and may be deploying it, I would recommend this book. We are in the midst of a mid to large implementation and this definitely helped me get through some topics I was struggling to grasp. ACI is a different beast than most of us are used to and having solid resources is a must. This is definitely ONE for the toolbox during deployment.

I had high hopes for this books, but honestly if you don't know much about ACI, this book does little to really help understand the fundamental concepts. I have a CCIE in R&S along with a VCP, MCSE and MCITP and read the "intro" to networking chapter twice, and it's still about as clear as mud. The author(s) do very little to fully explain concepts in relational or understandable terms. They also use terms that don't get defined or spoken about until later in the book. They do not use metaphors at all aside from one regarding the inside and outside of a house, which appeared twice. Other than that, the material is presented as if you already know what these terms really mean.The material seems to skip around quite a bit and even though you are in a major section, another topic comes in that seems to have almost nothing to do with that section. There are also configuration examples mixed in. In the printed version, these are a little fuzzy and nearly too small to see any detail. They are also in Black and White, no color. Also, the config examples don't do you any good if you don't have your hands on a lab environment. These config examples should be separated out.Overall, I will need to buy a different book or attend a class to find someone that can better explain this platform. This may be better marketed as a second level book.

Really well put together and simplistic to understand. Would be highly beneficial to anyone who is investigating ACI and definitely to those who already own it.

With my current role I don’t have the opportunity to work with ACI. But this really covers the topic and provides it in an easily readable format, great release
