I've been using WD hard drives as long as I've been playing with computers, we're talking about the late 1980s. I've installed dozens of them in new builds, upgrades and repairs. This is the first time I've tried one of their SSDs.This SSD replaced a WD Blue hard disk and the machine now boots up in seconds rather than minutes. While it's not exactly a ball of fire, it's fine for everyday computing. This one doesn't cost a whole lot more than the Brand X Chinese products, but it's from a company you've actually heard of and they do honor their warranty if there's a problem.

Great value. installed in a 10 year old laptop that's used for light internet and office documents.laptop boots up and runs a lot faster than the original HDD that it came with.

I've been using this as my boot drive for the better part of 8 months, and it works exactly how you'd expect a cheaper ssd to work. Way faster than hard drive, but not as fast as a blazing 970evo. WD is reliable even on the cheaper end in my experience-- that being said, i wouldn't put super crucial information on here, and backup your files to a ext drive or other drive consistently. I've read reviews of people here saying it's failed on them, DON'T run on RAID 0. ALWAYS. BACKUP. YOUR. FILES.

This is a great SSD for my 2012 laptop. Sure it is DRAM-less and just 240 GB, but this is fine for what I needed. My 2012 laptop works better than it did when it was brand new! It is 2020, an operating system should be on an SSD. No excuses.In short, if you are looking to rejuvenate an old computer, this WD SSD is good choice.

My Toshiba laptop seemed really, really, really slow and I figured it was due to the 5400 RPM hard drive it came with. I ordered this, got it in a day, and now it's the drive that the laptop uses. I went from waiting a literal minute for Chrome to start, to it starting in a matter of seconds. It changed the character of the laptop from "replace next Black Friday to keep for years. Once the 8 GB stick of RAM comes in, this laptop will serve well for a long time. I'm really impressed with this product and would buy again.
