Works good on work boots.
Got this to see if it work on my work boots. It was slow to see results but persistents pays off. They do not smell at all and it dries my boots completely from me sweating in them all day. My boots are good now. The size of the bulbs could be bigger so I do not have to do two cycles of treatment on them. The bulb only covers about half the boot at one time. There is no noise from bulbs at all. I do not know if the bulb gets hot or not but when I take them out the bulb is cool to the touch. Easy to use just put in shoe/ boot and hit button wait and then repeat. Good value for the money and I would recommend this to anyone. I gave 4 stars cause the bulbs need to be bigger to cover more area.

The science is there… but..
I tried these out on some old hiking shoes that got wet (and are now dry). It helped a little, but it wasn’t a miracle worker. I didn’t smell much, if any ozone being generated by the lamps. The lights do generate UV, and those types of UV lights can generate some ozone. The problems is the lights only do inside the shoes, leaving the exterior (also a source of smells) untreated. I found putting them in large paper or plastic bag helps by keeping the UV light in (and eyeballs away) in addition to keeping more ozone around. Its also important to remove the inserts so the ozone and UV can directly get to those hidden smells. Lastly, the directions weren’t entirely clear, but if you want to run the device for 1 hour (maximum time) you have to hold down the power switch for 3 seconds.

Curiously effective
This is one of those products that you have to set expectations accordingly. If you have a worn out, nasty smelling pair of shoes, nothing is going to restore them to that out-of-the box new condition. These UV shoe inserts are a clever idea for controlling (not eliminating) shoe funkiness. The inserts do get warm so they are effective at expediting dry times. There is a lot of plastic frame material around the UV bulbs so I would recommend repositioning and rotating them during or between cycles. That will help to get good UV coverage all around the shoe. Keep in mind, when your feet sweat that moisture goes INTO the shoe linings. UV light is more or less limited to the fabric surfaces. Set your expectations accordingly and you won't be disappointed. Hope this helps.

Works as expected
I had little hope for this to work as advertised, since I have really stinky feet, and that translates to the insides of all my footwear. Well, this little gem of a ultraviolet deodorizer shoe dryer not only did it's job splendidly, but it also worked on my sandals, slippers and all related footwear I have. I was shocked at how well it did it's job on eliminating my stinky foot smell in my footwear. A couple of my work boots needed a double does of the longest setting of 30 minutes to eliminate the odors, but it did. I just plugged it in and set the timer to either 15 minutes or 30 minutes and let it do it's thing. You won't be disappointed in how this eliminates odors in footwear!

Does not deodorize but sure makes shoes "light up" rofl
I have some vibram five finger shoes that got a horrid smell after wearing just once. Most of my shoes are this way. After using this product I personally have no clue how this is a dryer or heater of any sort. It is a product that puts a black light in your shoe to "maybe" kill bacteria. I believe it 100% doesn't. As such I couldn't recommend this product at all.

The jury is still out on this one
This review is for the 10W Black Ultraviolet Deodorizer Shoe Dryer, Electric Foot, Shoe Heater, Shoes, Boot Dryer, Glove Dryer, Dry with Heat Fan, Foldable Design, Quick Drying for Shoes, HatsI don't know if this was a translation issue, but there is no "heat fan" in this product. It lights up with a blue UV light and, if you leave it on for at least 30 minutes it does get warm, but I would not call this a "shoe heater." I tried it as suggested--with my damp socks (after a 5-mile walk) tucked in to "avoid the ultraviolet ray radiation, at the same time, also can disinfect & sterilize the socks." I think I'll stick to washing my socks in the laundry. At a $50 price point (at the time of this review) I am not comfortable recommending this product as I have no other way to determine if my shoes were, in fact, sterilized or simply lit up blue for a while. I had hoped they would function as a warming/drying fan, but there is no fan. I did not notice my sneakers smelling any fresher, either. (Yes, I sacrificed my nose for this review!)

3.5 stars rounded up; works but it is not a miracle; use only in a ventilated area
This isn't really a shoe dryer since it doesn't have a fan, but the bulbs heat up, so the heat can speed drying. After putting this in some shoes in a well-ventilated area, they did have a smell like ozone, but not all the odor was gone. I ran a cycle again, and I think it was slightly better. Part of the shoe didn't have as close contact to the bulbs, and that part definitely smelled worse, so this is doing something, but don't expect a miracle. The best way to stop shoe odor is not to let it happen in the first place, which means using a deodorant on your feet. That's not always easy to get everyone in the family to do!The product info says this is safe, but it also says it works by converting oxygen in the air to ozone, and ozone is not good to breathe, so I would only use this outside, in a garage, or in some other well-ventilated area.
