Catch And Release [DVD]

Jennifer Garner does a full range of sad faces throughout this movie, fortunately she is very good at sad faces. Its not her fault that she is so glum, her characters fiancé died on a fishing trip just before their wedding.(HEADS UP: the main character is called GRADY and her dead fiancé is GREY (hope that's right - could be the other way about), anyway, this confused me a lot at the start as I though Grey was short for Grady, couldn't work out why they had the same name, so, yeah, its not)Then despite the fact that dead fiancé turns out to be a secret millionaire, she is left penniless. The obvious solution is to move in with his crazy fishing friends - these guys do their best to add some comedy - by making waffles in a wacky way etc - that bit is pretty lame. Anyway, one of the housemate/friends looks like he might be a pretty good kisser, Grady avails herself of this service on several occasions, good for her. This does cause a bit of friction (the other sort) with another house mate who secretly has a crush on Grady, this plot never really goes anywhere, that guy is a bit creepy so prob just as well.Despite the sad faces this was quite and engaging film, it was fun to watch, some parts more than others, and it had a good heart.

This just scrapes in as a 4. (they should really mark these out of 10).Mainly cos it's not the predictable type of film from the background of...wife loses fiance, finds out he was 2 timing her, has to move out of house cos of money problems...etc.No...it could easily have made the gang of lads she is forced to live with (friends of her dead fiance) stereotypical...but instead opens them up to being more than...the overweight bearded daft one, the handsome womaniser, the loser, the mistress she didn't know about turning up to try and grab some money for the kid she has. You end up liking all the characters and accepting their flaws.Well I did anyway.

Good, funny and easy to watch

Movie nice. But print was hazy and sound not clear like Netflix.

It wasn't until I was searching on Amazon for random dvds that I could spend what little money I had on, that I found 'Catch and Release'. Now I must admit that when I was looking at it on amazon it looked rubbish and deathly boring and maybe quite old.When I eventually gave in and watched it I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole film! It's safe to say that this film is captivating! Jennifer Garner played her character in such a way that I felt everything she was feeling! I got butterflies and just couldn't look away! The comedy aspect of the film kept me highly amused and I really giggled at parts!Once I'd watched the film once, I watched it again every night for the next week because I loved it so much and got something new from it everytime I watched it!After watching it endlessly I bought more copies for my friends for christmas and they all loved the film almost as much as me!I highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good old chick flick! Even if you're doubting this film because of how it looks I would urge you to give it a chance!!

Slow plot line, but a good film, no pausing, no scratches, sealed packaging- no complaints here

It is a sweet film, relaxing to watch, calm acting, sweet...….Now , if you need more therapy during lockdown of covid 19 in the UK...try Justified, I am amazed I have never even heard of this series....it is funny , great acting, easy to watch, a pleasure to watch....God love Olyphant to put a smile on my face ,,,,,,#####

I very much appreciate Jennifer Garner, not only is she a beautiful actress, but she is able to convincingly portrayal sadness and distress (as well as a wonderful smile and laugh). I was looking for some easy going romantic comedy; and although there are comedic touches in here (great cast) it is quite moving. I enjoyed this film a lot.
