Q: Can you add a receiver of the same model from a different order? My dog ate my doorbell...

Yes, I've just done this myself be ordering enough sets for four receivers and two transmitters. First, try the regular pairing instructions (hold vol button 3+ seconds and then click a transmitter). If this doesn't work, try this additional pairing step: put the receiver in pairing mode (hold vol button 3+ seconds until pairing light blinks, then while blinking, click and hold the transmitter button until the blinking stops). This should then allow the regular pairing step to work if it hadn't before. If no results after that, then send the receiver back for a replacement (I had to do this for one out of four).

The size of this doorbell button is 1.6in (W) * 3.3in (H)

Q: Does the receiver have 2 or 3 prongs (grounded)? And if it only has 2 prongs, can it be flipped upside down for use on a top outlet?

Yes, it only has 2 prongs that are not polarized. However, the location of these prongs are down from the top of the unit. Consequently, it blocks some of the clearance to the second outlet. There is only clearance for a 2 prong plug. You could use a short extension for either the doorbell unit or 3 prong devices.
