I got the "Butch's Road Rescue" set and it's perfectly adorable.- All the wheels move well and easily- Really only 1 "small" part (the magnet at the end of the tow truck boom) but well-secured- The hay bale and car have magnets in front that will attach to the magnet inside the end of the tow truck boom. It's really cute.- All the painting and such is all done very well. Straight, consistent, no flaws.None of these are very heavy, so easy for little hands. Very sturdy, no rough edges. Just adorable. Thomas the Train and Friends trains have been a go to favorite for our grandchildren for the past 9 years. The trains are very good quality and have held up well through 5 grandchildren's play in one house so far.The Butchs Road Rescue is a cute set with Sir Topham Hat and Car, Butch the train with magnet boom, and two blocks he can pick up and move. Things that are different with the new design compared to our older trains: Sir Topham Hat, in my opinion, is better in the new design; he bends at the waist and can sit in the car. In the old design he was on a solid piece of wood and just stood there, with no real use. The biggest difference in the new design is the paint coverage on the trains. On the old trains the entire train was covered in paint, in this new design only the main parts of the train are covered. My grandchildren don't seem to notice or care about the paint; they love playing with the old and new trains. The new trains move just as smoothly and easily on the tracks; both new tracks and our older tracks from our first grandson.Overall, we love the Thomas the Train Sets and will continue to purchase for our grandchildren. They are have stood the test of time and have held the interest of all of our grandchildren for hours on hours of imagination play. Love them!

[This is a review for the Butch's Road Rescue Set]I have two grandsons, aged 1 1/2 and 3 years, who are big Thomas fans. They love anything and everything Thomas and this set is no exception.These are nice, durable wooden toys of a shape, size and weight friendly to Toddler hands. The wood pieces are solid and not merely hollow boxes. The paint jobs on the toys are not glossy and even kind of low-key with some of the wood surfaces left unpainted. Thought the vehicles fit the wooden tracks that are compatible (not included), tracks aren't necessary for this or any of the other sets. My grandsons are happy to play with the Thomas toys with and without tracks.Butch is a tow truck with a moving crane and a magnet that can attach to and pick up any other Thomas toy that also has a magnet. Additionally, there is a cargo box, a roadblock sign and a Sir Toppham Hatt figure. And there is also Sir Topham's car--except that it isn't!I have watched enough Thomas the Tank Engine episodes and movies with my grandsons to know that Sir Topham's car is red not blue and it has a face like Butch and all the trains and his name is Winston. This faceless car is an impostor! Perhaps SIr Topham was just renting a car for the weekend.Despite that, this is a worthy addition to the boys' Thomas collection.

I adore this set! I fell in love with Thomas after catching one "Thomas & Friends" on PBS when Mister Conductor was played by Ringo Starr. Yeah, I'm a grown up who was charmed by Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends in their many adventures. As a general, all around train lover, I have a collection of interesting little trains so I was excited to start collecting Thomas The Tank Engine and his Friends. I can see the train station from my apartment and hear trains coming and going with their whistles blowing all day so having my Thomas collection near my window is just too perfect! Adding this road rescue set was a no brainer.Not only do I enjoy looking at this set along with the rest of my Tomas & Friends collection, it's great fun for any of my friends' little children or grandchildren to play with whenever they visit. It makes visiting that old woman who is friend with Mom or Grandma a lot more enjoyable! I know of no child who doesn't love Thomas and all of his friends.

Who doesn't love Thomas and friends? My grandkids are huge fans. I love that all the Thomas trains have magnet connectors that are so easy to connect! Even our little two-year old is successful in connecting the cars.
