Exact Fit and better than OEM
After 395K miles on the truck, decided to put on new shocks. Checked prices on various aftermarket brands as well as oem. Years ago had very good experience with Monroe brand shocks. These did not disappoint. They were a perfect fit. The first was a little difficult as I had to reposition the jack stands as I did hot have enough room to roll a small jack to compress the shock to fit into the axle bracket. Great ride improvement and a relatively easy install.

I wanted to go with a brand name that I was familiar with and REALLY glad that I did. My truck rides better now than it did when we bought it new.GO WITH MONROE!!

Great price for these rear shocks
I found a shop that would install these for me. Seemed straight forward to install myself, but did not want to chance anything that could go wrong with me installing them myself. 2 bolts per side one on top and one on the bottom. I did not have any penetrating oil and did not want to get under the truck to do it myself. Maybe next time.

Check for design change UPDATE
I purchased two at the same time. I received one and the other one the next day. Apparently they came from different locations. The first one had the nomenclature stamped into the bottom of the shock. The one I received the next day didn't have any thing stamped. In the pictures the first one I received the box label was different with OESPECTRUM printed on it as the other didn't. Also, in the pictures of the shocks you will see where one has the nomenclature stamped on it where as the other one dosen't. Out of concern I called Munroe technical department and posed the question of missing nomenclature. He said all shocks have model number and manufacturer date code stamped. He had concern if it was an orginal shock made by them. He suggested to send it back and I agreed. Automotive parts have some type of information stamped on it for reference should there be a failure so the can identify it origin of manufacturer and date. I suggest to check for this before you install.Update 4/29/23 - I reached out to Monroe tech support via email my concern of the difference in the shocks. Here's their reply "We have moved our manufacturing to a new facility with updated tooling and manufacturing capability. With this change we have updated the design of the monotubeshock. These changes with not affect the performance of the shock it is just the visual appearance. In the image provided the current design is the unit on the left.Regards"That being said I still would want a pair of shocks of identical design. I hope the new design provides either the same or better performance. Only time will tell. I will say that I'm completely satisfied with the performance of the old design shocks.I ended up going to my local O'Reilly store to see which design shock they had in stock. It was the older design therefore I purchased one to match the one purchased from Amazon.

Night and day difference
Put on a pleasure driven2016 GMC Sierra 1500 regular cab 2wd short box @ 35,000 miles and could not be happier. Noticed the more "confident feeling" after two blocks. I wish now I never waited so long!!

Smooth ride,easy install
Purchased these shocks to replace my OEM shocks on my 2013 Silverado. Removal of old shocks and install of new ones was very easy. 2 bolts per shock. Recommend spraying the bolts with WD40 or similar product a few days prior to removing the bolts. This will make it easier to remove the bolts. Good videos on You Tube for anyone that has install questions. Ride feels like new. Good DIY project. Highly recommend.
