Under its own weight only the carbon fibre filaments discharge static whilst removing surface dust and fluff. Applying gentle pressure introduces the integral velvet pad which traps and lifts more resistant grime. Electrically conductive assembly discharges static through the conductive ribs of the handle body. Instructions for use 1. With the record rotating on the turntable gently apply the SUPER EXSTATIC to the playing surface under its own weight so the carbon fibre filaments brush in the direction of the grooves for 2-3 revolutions. 2. Add light pressure bringing the integral velvet pad into contact with the playing surface to remove more resistant grime. 3. Clean the carbon fibre filaments and pad by gently flicking the fibres sideways over any clean dry edges or surface. 4. Re-apply the brush 2 or 3 times until no dust is being picked up. 5. Always replace the cleaner in the protective frame when not in use. 6. Clean your records with a good quality carbon fibre brush every time before playing. Tracking works!
Having read the reviews for this cleaning arm, I was initially dubious as to whether it would track properly or skip straight to the centre of the vinyl. My comment is to spend a little time setting it up with the different height and weights- it works superbly and, for the price, is a really good, substantial piece of kit. When not in use, it will fit neatly on my record deck with the lid down and certainly looks the biz!

It doesn't work!
Purchased this mat as the original mat supplied with my Pro-ject turntable kept sticking to the record when I lifted it off the deck due to static. Have so far played six discs, twelve sides, and each time I lift off the record this new anti-static mat comes with it. Next stop the bin!
