Better than dowsing yourself in DEET
My kid has horrible reactions to mosquito bites. The welts last weeks, sometimes months. Where we live, mosquitos aren't much of a problem, but when we visit family down south, it's a different story. After he was bitten ten times over the course of a day and a half, I drove to the local big box store and bought all the things. Mosquito patches? Check. A non-Deet based spray? Check. A ridiculously priced blanket that promised to ward off all manner of insects? Check. I spent a ridiculous amount of money...only to have my kid wake up the next morning with more bites. So, despite my reservations about DEET, I dowsed my kid in it. The next morning, he only had one bite. But, given the weeklong stay, I didn't want to cover him in DEET for the rest of our stay, so I ordered these BuggyBands bracelets and hoped for the best.Six bands are probably enough for six people, but I made my kid use five out of an abundance of caution...which was likely overkill. But, I wasn't convinced one would work and since they're natural, I figured the more, the better. So, we put one on each ankle. One on each wrist. And we taped a fifth one to his necklace. (We also used a plug in that Amazon all sells). The next morning...not a single bite. You should note that these are not supposed to last longer than 720 hours (30 days). So, remember to put them back in their resealable sleeve when not in use. My only minor complaint is that they are not very easy to put on. Might have been user error, but wanted to note that in case it's more than just a "me" problem.

I feel like it works…
This buggy band uses plant-based ingredients to ward off mosquitos. My little one attracts them and will end up with huge welts on his body. I don’t like using anything with deet on my kids and so I found these. I really do feel like he gets fewer bug bites with this on. I place it on his ankle so he won’t mess with it and it won’t bother him. The snap is a little difficult to poke through the hole to secure it but it does stay on once you get it snapped into place. I also love the smell of these bracelets (way better than deet!). I’ve been reusing them and putting them back in the resealable sleeve that they come in. Overall, I think these are working great for us as a family.

Hard to get on
These work well but they are really hard to get on.

Effective but overpriced.
How long do they last? The documentation says, "long hours of effective protection". My wife who is a mosquito magnet says that's about 2 days. So, for 2 days they appear to be effective. As for price, the same company sells a braided leather version in a 24 pack for $2 more.

Work great
We live in a heavily wooded area and wearing these really help cut down on the mosquito bites that we are subject to. Easy to put on and don't irritate the skin.

Works Better than Nothing!
I'm not a huge fan of bug sprays, as my kids have sensitive skin and lungs. I wanted to try something a bit closer to natural and I'm pleasantly surprised to find these work pretty well. Right now, we're having a huge mosquito problem in the Midwest. It seems I can barely get outside to check the mail without getting bitten. My daughter wore one of these while playing outside and only came in with one bite toward her ankle (versus the 10-15 that she sometimes comes in with). I imagine on really muggy days I could have her wear one on her wrist and one around her ankle to get better coverage, but I'll say this is a lot better than going without. I am not entirely sure how long it will last yet, I'll update my review if they don't last for a reasonable amount of time. Otherwise, the smell isn't unpleasant (I think it smells good!) and the band fits a wide range of sizes. Each one is individually wrapped in a resealable pouch so it's nice to be able to toss into a bag for use on the fly.

Helpful
I was super skeptical that these would do anything. But I was going off to the woods for a week to chaperone at a camp, so I figured I'd give them a try. These actually do help! I was able to avoid using traditional bug repellent for the whole trip! There were not huge amounts of mosquitos, so in high concentration areas, the results might not be as impressive. It also prevented gnats and other flying things. I watched them circle around looking for a place to land and avoiding my arm. The range is a bit limited, so it might be worth wearing one on your ankle and one on your arm or something like that. These might not work for anyone with large ankles. I had to use the last hole, and I have average, women-sized ankles. These do not prevent horseflies; they seem to be attracted to it, as I discovered. The band smells of citronella, but I like the smell. It's not so strong that it will follow you around. Each band seems to last for about 48 hours. They are comfortable to wear and fit well. I will complain about trying to get them attached. The nub is extremely difficult to fit through the holes. I was unable to fully latch any of them, but they still stayed on. It was frustrating. The styling and colors of these bands are very attractive. They look nice, like bracelets. I liked being able to coordinate the colors to my outfits.

Pretty good protection!
I recently tried the Mosquito Repellent Bracelets, and overall, they’re a good choice for insect protection. The silicone bands are DEET-free, which is great for both adults and kids, and they’re comfortable for the kids to wear. They work well for a day or two, providing decent protection against mosquitoes during outdoor activities. One downside is that the bracelets don't last very long—typically, they remain effective for just one or two days if you don't take them back to their bag. However you can save them more if you put them in their bag. Also, fastening them can be a bit tricky, especially for younger children. It often requires the help of an adult to get them on properly.Despite these minor issues, they are a practical and easy option for keeping mosquitoes at bay, especially for kids who are always on the move.
