They have to be put on 20 mins before going into the sand or water. However, they stayed on for a few hours and helped with the heat of the concrete and sand. The toe area starts peeling first so next time i might try to cut the toes and keep them separate from the foot pad.

I LOVE these! They stay on until you take them off. I have found they will start to come off after swimming. It's also possible to get sand on the adhesive when the toes don't touch it. These are minor things. I have walked across hot pavement in a 100° day and barely felt the heat. I would highly recommend these to anyone who hates to wear shoes.

The pads did not stick very well

Don't.. I ordered for my mother. She couldn't use them they was all stuck together. It was a big waste of money. Never again.
