The MacBook Air cover arrived safely packed in a zippable plastic bag with a separator between top and bottom, which was necessary as it is constructed of very thin, slightly flexible plastic. It came with a cardboard protected keyboard cover in a sealed cellophane bag, and an information sheet, mainly on troubleshooting problems with installation!The plastic is slightly 'smoked' with a feint blue/grey tint. The base has rubber feet on each corner.I am guessing that the fact that the plastic is slightly flexible is not just because it is thin. Previous lightweight transparent covers I have had have developed cracks after only a short time and I am wondering if this one might be better in that respect. Only time will tell.The cover is easily fitted with clips (plastic protuberances) and will provide the protection against scratches, etc, required. It is basic however, and while the ports on the computer are easily accessible, this is because the edges of the cover have large cut outs. Similarly at the back, where the laptop hinge will not be impeded.The current cost of this care is £22.99 with a £4 voucher, so £18.99. This is not atypical for covers of this sort although cheaper ones can be found on the Amazon site. I am wondering if the slight flexibility of the material on this one has added to the cost and will make it longer lasting than some. Please treat this as no more than a hopeful guess on my part, I have no evidence that this will be the case. In relation to that, I will give the cover a rating of 4 stars for now on the assumption that this otherwise very basic cover will last well, but will come back and amend my rating if cracks appear in the reasonably near future.

I like to protect my stuff as much as possible (I say it every review) and this enables me to try and keep my Macbook looking as pristine as possible.You get two parts - bottom and top plus a keyboard cover which is rubber but does the job and allows you to see the illuminated keys. Fitting the protector is easy - it essentially clips into place. As it is matte finished, it doesn't attract fingerprints and is easy to wipe clean should you end up with jam on it or something. I have a midnight blue coloured Macbook, so I got the appropriate one for that. I can see why a glossy one might appeal to some people but having had one, they're a pain to clean and easy to scuff, so this one fits the bill perfectly.
