Handy for Drone flying and AC filter check
This is a nice hand held Anemometer; fairly easy to use as well. I use it for wind speed and average wind direction when flying my drone. I am not good at judging wind direction, so I slowly move the wind Anemometer through an arc in the general direction of the wind, until I find the direction from which I get the highest speed. This works well especially when the breeze is below 5 mph.A second use I found for this Anemometer is to check when my AC filters are really due for replacing, rather than automatically replacing them every 3 months. When I do a filter change, I hold the Anemometer up to the same vent each time that is closest to the air handler. For my AC unit and duct design, a 7 mph air flow is ideal. Every month I do a quick check. And like clockwork, when the wind speed drops to about 4.8 to 5 mph then it's time to change the filter. This can vary from 2 to 4 months between filter changes. Now for the negatives that made me deduct one star:1. This Anemometer requires a 9 volt battery which is not included. The battery cover is held in place by a tiny screw. It's time consuming to change the battery. And if you drop that little screw, the chances of finding it are near zero.2. To switch it on you need to tap the red on-button once. To switch it off requires holding down the red button for several seconds. This should have been reversed. The problem comes once the Anemometer is in the soft supplied storage bag. Any inadvertent bump/tap on the red button, when it's in the bag, switches it on, and then only to find the 9 volt battery dead when I need to use it again. To solve this problem I now use it with the battery cover permanently off, and when packing it away I remove the battery. At least the battery tends to stay in place without the cover when using it.Other than the above issues , it’s a nice unit to have for which I found 3 uses: Wind Speed, Wind direction and AC filter change.Review for: Digital Wind Speed Meter - High-Precision Anemometer Handheld Wind Gauge Air Flow Meter for Wind Velocity and Temperature for Outdoor Activities, CFM Meter Gauge for Drone Flying and Sailing

Easy to use
The directions were easy to follow, and easy to use.Would buy it again very please with merchandise. Works really well

Cool little device with one annoying flaw.
I knocked a star off this solely because of the stupid battery door. Why we are still putting a tiny screw to hold a battery door on in modern devices is beyond me. That thing WILL be lost at some point then your doing without that door. We've had good snap/slide on doors for a long time now and this device should have had that.Other than that, it works pretty good. I see it's only supposed to go up to 65 mph. I wanted it for doing news coverage in hurricanes so it's going to be a limited use in that. I will say it's pretty accurate up next to my Davis Weather station. For most people, that limit isn't going to be a thing, because unlike us TV people that stand out in the high hurricane winds, most people will have enough sense to be under cover before it reaches anything approaching the limits of this device.

AC vent output
A buddy of my is an AC tech and was telling me that fan speed was important for keeping the house cool. I noticed house wasn't cooling as fast as before. But to make sure we got this meter to test the air speed coming out of the vent. As we took reading across the house, noticed certain vents had better speeds that others. After reviewing the AC duct unit we found that someone had placed damper within certain lines. By removing the dampers air speed normalized across the house. We would have never know if it wasn't for this anemometer.

Spins easily in the wind, but the fan is slightly unbalanced.
I use this to see how much wind there is for kite flying. Several of my kites have specific ranges of wind. Too little wind and they won't fly. Too much and they could be damaged. It works well and registers even very light wind. I'm not looking for meterological accuracy, but I do wonder how accurate it is. The fan is unbalanced, so in a still room it will turn and settle in the same position no matter how you orient the device. This will affect the readings when in use. For the price though it's probably ok.I like that it has a pouch to protect it, but the buttons can still be pressed through the cover.9V batteries should go away. This should be rechargeable like everything else.
