The grate was purchased to cover our water meter to protect it. It bent the first time someone ran over it.

This cast iron grate arrived intact and in new condition as a solid, single piece. The paint finish still had an odor from manufacturing. I used it for my open fire pit and it works swimmingly. I had to burn all the paint off first. Of course, now I will need to rub oil on the grate to prevent rusting. But this grate is just what I needed for the pit.
