Used water, and haven’t had our umbrella fly away from the deck. We live up on a hill and it gets very windy, despite other reviews it is very sturdy for how inexpensive it is! Easy to put together. Holds the water, no leaks. Fits with umbrella we have and is easy to move around not that heavy once filled.

I had a picnic table given to me. Bought this to go with the umbrella I also bought. I haven't even added water to it and it seems to be working fine. Great product at a great price.

It’s very cute and sturdy. It has one plug that water or sand can go into. I got it for our umbrella that we will use at the beach. I tried it out with water first at home and it held umbrella well. It has adapters for different size umbrellas. It fit well for ours. I would have given it 5 stars if the design had a better draining system. The only opening is at the top and it is designed in a cone shape that goes into the object itself making a doughnut like interior. That means that last bit of water stays stuck around the opening. I like the stand enough to keep it and we cut an opening in the cone shaped plug. It helped get more water out but it’s not a 100% empty. I think sand will be more troublesome. I think most of it nice the only design flaw is the emptying of the container. Other than that 4 stars.

This product suffers from an underdesigned tube. A very think piece of metal holds it to the base. This thin plate bends under wind load on the umbrella, loosening the base screw and causing the umbrella to lean. Additionally the fill hole is way too small. Would be a lot easier to fill with sand if it was a half inch larger.

It stays put where you put it. Having two places on stand to hold umbrella in place. Used it at my picnic table, works great.

So far, so good. It was easy to fill - I used water - and it seems heavy enough to not go over in a breeze. I don't plan on emptying it so don't know how difficult it would be to store.
