Brilliant flavour, worth the price

Hot chocolate has become our regular bedtime favourite so we've sampled various brands to find which ones we like the most. This gourmet 40% chocolate sounded like the "one" and is the second most expensive one that I've bought. I was looking forward to tasting some rich chocolate flavour that wasn't too bold and without the deep cocoa flavour that you get with the supermarket gourmet organic brand. This would be tempered with buttery caramel notes the sweetness of which is carefully balanced by just the right amount of salt so giving a smooth creamy feel on the palate leaving you wanting for more. The packaging is what I expected for a product of this price and inside of the tin was a cellophane packet that contained the chocolate powder. Even though the weight of the chocolate powder is given in the description I was surprised by how little there was in the packet! Also, the hot chocolate was much lighter in colour and more powdery than I expected compared to other luxury hot chocolate mixes that I have bought for less money. So okay, onto the drink itself. I can only say that it was wholly underwhelming. The chocolate notes lacked depth and were barely detectable and the salted caramel although promising so much was practically non-exsistent. Even when I made it for a second time adding an extra teaspoon of powder, this didn't make any difference to the overall taste. I've now resorted to adding a couple of teaspoons of another much cheaper hot chocolate mix in order mask the blandness and to use up the remaining powder. Giving it two stars because of the packaging!

This drinking chocolate is great for caramel lovers, personally, I do not prefer caramel but I can appreciate the hot chocolate nonetheless. Compared to the other hot chocolates I tried this one has a very subtle taste, the chocolate base is not very pronounced because they use milk chocolate with added cocoa, maybe the problem is in the instructions and could be that 4 teaspoons are not enough to achieve deep chocolatey taste. The main taste should be the salted caramel but even it is lacking a bit, otherwise, I wouldn't like it as much as I do.It is not overly sweet, but it still has 48 grams of sugar for 100 grams of product which is less than a lot of hot chocolates on the market.It is not as rich and creamy as I expected, I even used milk frother to help it dissolve and build, so I would probably recommend more teaspoons.Overall, it is a good-tasting chocolate beverage, however, I feel it is a bit lacking and that there are far superior hot chocolates out there, and given the price of £10.56 per 100 g I would say it is quite pricey.

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Gift Set Tin - Luxury Gourmet 40% Milk Drinking Cocoa is good quality and very tasty source of hot chocolate.This is not the usual hot chocolate powder you would get in your local supermarket. It looks and tastes like grated chocolate and this is before you add the milk needed to make a delicious chocolate drink.It is easy to make and personally I prefer it when made using the stove to heat and melt the chocolate.The taste of this drink is very rich and sweet, when I first received it I made it using the instructions. Personally, this was too sweet and rich for my own personal taste buds. I calculated using the state dose as per instructions this tin of chocolate richness would not last very long.Halfing the dose created a nice chocolate drink which was very pleasing for my own taste. I do like this brand of hot chocolate drink and it is one I would purchase again but keep it for those special times when a bit of luxury is needed.Happy to recommend.

Excellent quality

I had high expectations for this product given the price point and the small quantity of hot chocolate contained inside.It comes nicely boxed and in a nice metal tin. There is potential to save packaging as I don't think there really needs to be this much - the contents of the packet could have been emptied into the tin and tightly sealed to save plastic.The taste is alright - wasn't exactly what I was expecting since the smell from opening the tin was quite nice. I put in the recommended spoonful of about 25g but didn't get the taste I was hoping for.There were hints of the sea salt but the taste overall wasn't what I expected.It is derived from 100% natural ingredients and is gluten free and suitable for vegetarians.It's quite pricey and you're not getting much in return. Particolare è molto buona.Bisogna metterne un po' di più nel latte e farlo scaldare lentamente, senza bollire.Non viene scuro come ce lo aspetteremo ma molto molto molto buono

Regalata alla mia compagna, è lei a scrivere la recensione:La cioccolata è buona ma il caramello salato è assente.La consistenza resta liquida nonostante abbia seguito le istruzioni riportate sulla confezione.A mio avviso è una bevanda al gusto di cioccolato.
