I received as a gift and did not have chalk markers, so I tested sidewalk chalk and it completely erased with a damp paper towel. The chalk writing looked good in photos.

Bought a chalk marker for this board, couldn’t get it to come off because board isn’t like real chalkboard material.

I bought this sign for my son's first day of junior kindergarten and it is the perfect size for his little hands. The apple-shape of this one is fun and not like the normal rectangular shaped school signs usually online. The material is smooth and the graphic on top has good clarity. No blurriness. I like that it is versatile and can be used on the first day and last day of school. There is not much fill-in the blank area to write and measures smaller than most of the rectangular shaped signs, but I think it is actually perfect for kids just starting preschool of kindergarten. The only thing I noticed is that it does not come with the chalkboard markers, so I had to purchase separately. The sign is smooth and allows for the marker to glide on easily. Overall, I am so happy with this product. It is perfect for little hands starting school.

My son is starting Kindergarten soon and I am excited to take his picture using this. The colours are bright and the design fits perfectly for first day of Kindergarten.The only downfall is it's really a one time use per kid. You could re-use it if you have multiple kids and for each of their first day of Kindergarten, but thats it. It would have been nice to have one that was "first day of BLANK" and then you could fill out grade 1, 2, etc.. and use it every year. But it's fine because I really do like this and it will make a lovely picture.
