Uses 2 AAA batteries for each one, no WiFi needed, can't connect to WiFi or apps.
* Overall Impression:-This is a good value for a set of water sensors that are small and easy to place, require no Wifi connection or wires and use common, easy to find AAA batteries (2 each sensor).-Note, there are several variations in the listing, I’m reviewing the set of 6 sensors.* Pros-what I liked and what worked well:-Good value for the style, quality and quantity.-Good quality, well made.-6 included (in the variation with 6, there are other variations).-Take standard, common batteries, no specialized batteries needed, 2 round AA batteries in each sensor.-Batteries are included (2 for each sensor).-Batteries are rated to last up to 2 years in standby mode (may vary by the battery make).-Low battery alert when batteries get low, it will show a light (not an audio alarm) (You may want to put a reminder or schedule to replace the batteries and test them regularly).-Easy to install and place.-Small, compact size.-Wireless, no wires or wired probes or detectors required.-No WiFi connection required (or available, it can’t connect to WiFi, an app or Alexa).-Audio alarm alert for water detection-120db alarm.-4 probes on the underside (must be placed flat on the floor or surface).-Test button (to test the batteries and alarm).-If you hear the alarm go off for water or low battery, you can press the test button to stop the audio alert alarm.-Waterproof with an IP66 waterproof rating.-Certified by: FCC, CE, RoHS.-Instructions included.-Device to to open them included.-Have no unpleasant odor to them.-Size: (triangular shaped)Widest area across: 3.1 inches (3 sides of the triangle)Tall: 1.06 inches.* Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well:-No audio alert for low batteries, just a light comes on vs an audio alert.* Tips & Thoughts:-Note that the batteries will over time have to be replaced with common sized round AAA batteries, 2 in each sensor. So when you place them, place them in an area that it will be easy to get to, but still provide protection. For example I didn’t put mine behind my washing machine, but to the side of it between it and the wall where I can still get to it, but it will still catch any water and alert me.-Remember that you only get a light alert for low batteries vs an audio alert. You’ll want to set up a schedule to test them and check the batteries and replace the batteries so they don’t run low on battery power.-It says wall mount in the listing details, but that’s not correct, it’s flat on the surface or floor mount vs wall.-Note that they must be laid flat on the floor or other surface and can’t be used laid upright or on their sides. They have to be flat on the floor so the sensors on the base will touch the floor and sense any water there.-Note that there is no Wifi feature on them, and you can’t link them to an app or Alexa to get alerts, they’re just a standard alarm with audio and no linking to apps or devices. There are alarms that have this feature, these do not.-Placement ideas: near the washing machine, dishwasher, sinks (behind or inside the cabinet), behind the toilet. Anywhere there could be a water issue. However, note don’t place them in an area water regularly is and is normal, or it will sense the water and sound the audio alert alarm.-You may want to print, save or refer to the listing pictures and details for use instructions.

Nice!
Just got them and tested them seem to work fine. Out of the 3 we received one was hard to close so we only used two of them but that’s okay we didn’t need more. Time will tell if they work when we have a leak so that’s why only a 3 rating.

Excelent sensitivity and loudness
This is a Vine review for "Water Sensor Alarm Leak Detector: 120db Water Leak Detector, Water Sensor Alarm for Home Basement Floor, Flood Leakage Drip Water Detection Alert Devices" sold by "SECRUI store".The unit is very compact, with a footprint of an equilateral triangle of 3 inches per side. This is great because it is easy to place in corners and tight spaces where leaks might happen, but will not be a trip hazard. This sensor works on the principle of electrical conductivity: down from its bottom protrude 4 electrical contact pins, delineating a trapezoid. If any two ADJACENT pins touch water (see test below), a small amount of electricity flows through (hopefully non-pure) water, the two pins complete a circuit, which will trigger the alarm. The alarm can be set to 4 modes: 3 levels of loudness, and 1 silent mode (wherein only the LED indicates whether a leak is being detected).I subjected this device to 3 tests:1) Place it in a dry bathtub, and pour small amounts (20 cc) of tap water away from the device, let the tap water flow in small quantities to the underside of the sensor. Alarm triggered as expected.2) Knowing that my tap water is high in salinity and minerals, I retried with purified drinking water (from a reverse-osmosis household filter, which conducts less electricity). Again a small amount of < 20cc triggered the alarm in less than 3 seconds, attesting to the good sensitivity of this sensor.3) Whether pins are switched or shorted in pairs: I poured a stream of water across two pins that are not "adjacent", meaning the water flows diagonally across the trapezoid. The alarm did NOT trigger. This means that the pins are arranged in two criss-cross pairs. Given the price of $16, this is a reasonable implementation, I'm just noting here that in the very small chance of a thin water leak going across diagonally, the alarm will fail to sense the leak. The leak sensor on the top of the unit is also very sensitive; even touching the two tiny metal terminals with a wet finger will trigger the alarm.Last thing to note is that the manual indicates this unit is rated IP66. You can direct a water jet at it, and it should not fail. However it is not designed to be immersed in water.Overall this product does what it is supposed to do, and for its price and characteristics, represents very good protection against potential water damage that could escalate quickly to tens of thousands of dollars if undetected. I'm giving it 5 stars.

No wifi
This leak detector works just at intended and doesn’t have any assembly or set up required. Right out of the box I was able to just insert the batteries and place it where I needed it underneath the dishwasher. I tested it by putting in very very little water and it definitely was really loud and started beeping immediately. My only problem with this is that it is not connected to the Wi-Fi or any app so I can only tell if there’s a leak when I’m at home.
