Waterproof, but not durable.
At first I was pretty pleased with the PawTectors because they are truly waterproof. They fit according to their breed guidelines (I have a Chessie who weighs about 70 pounds). The price would have been great if these had been a long-lasting product. They took about 5-10 minutes to get on each time, once he learned that he liked them better than running without them. They were a pain, however, because snow collected at the top and melted down the inside of each boot, and then I had to turn each bootie inside out to dry. It took several hours to dry them, depending on how wet they were and if I washed them off under running water first (which I did the last couple of times because they were getting dirty and stinky). It was an absolute pain in the butt to turn each bootie inside out. This made the booties inconvenient to use in my very tight morning schedule of running the dog from 4:45-5:30 AM and working out from 5:40-6:15 AM and then getting ready and leaving for work before 6:45 AM each day. I do not have a half an hour to an hour of extra time to spend turning booties right side out, putting them on, and then when we come back taking them off, and turning the booties inside out to dry. I probably would have been ok with this for afternoon and night runs on most nights and rated these booties higher if it were not for the durability issue. My Chessie is a very active dog, requiring 1.5 - 2+ hours of intense run time (split into two to three sessions over the course of the day). We played fetch 3 times in my snow-covered (3-4" of snow) backyard, and then on the fourth run, I noticed that his toenails had put holes in the side that was down that day. I alternated the tops and bottoms as directed by the packaging to increase wear time, but four x 45 minutes??? That's IT?? - and it was really only 2 x 45 minutes - an hour and a half - since that side had been down on each bootie only twice before the holes appeared.Pros:waterproofseem to be comfortable enougheasy to figure outeasy enough to get on and off in less than five minutes with a fairly cooperative dog WHEN THEY ARE DRYvelcro stays shut even over the significant fold you have to make to close the topsstay on ok (only lost one boot, one time, and I think it was my fault in the direction I had folded the material)washabletraction on ice was only slightly less than his usual - not a very observable difference in traction from his bare feetCons:NOT durable enough by far - toenail holes all the way through the material after only 3.75 hours of running in snow and iceGet wet on the inside due to snow accumulation at the tops above the velcro (even when folded over they seem to get wet most of the way or all of the way down)*Do not dry out very fast and are an absolute PAIN (i.e. 5-10 minutes PER BOOT) to flip inside out even once you discover that pushing in and grabbing the toe and then pulling it the rest of the way is the fastest way to flip them (no tool seemed to work, either)*Stiff after being wet and then air-dryingPrice point for this level of durability is much too high.*I had these over two weeks before we had used them 4 times because of this inconvenience factor.I would compare the feel and quality of these booties to heavy-duty dishwashing gloves with a flecked lining. They can't be very warm. This would have been ok with me (in fact I thought about using them in the summer for our walks on pavement had they lasted) - but obviously these were not made for heavy usage by a medium-sized or larger dog. If you have a tiny dog with very short nails, these would be ok for short walks.

Didn't fit our dog
Don't rely on the list of breeds to guess what size your dog will need, especially if you have a mutt like we do. Instead take the time to actually measure the front paws. We ordered a large but medium was actually the correct size. $5 return shipping = lesson learned.Once we got the right size, we tried them on our dog. She wasn't thrilled with the idea but she let us put them on. Watching a dog try to walk in these for the first time is downright comical. We learned that you have to cinch the velcro straps extremely tight or the boots will fall off too easily. Because of how long it takes to put them on correctly, we probably won't use these for routine "potty" trips in the back yard. The main reason we got them was because it's so cold out that she's been holding up one paw at a time to try to keep it off the snow, so it's disappointing to not be able to solve that for her. We'll still keep them for when it gets nice enough to take her for winter walks again.

Too thick
I got these for my rotweiller/pit mix and he is a big boy. These were so stiff and thick that they would not bend and let him wear them and run around at the same time. I live in MN where most of the winter we have had at least 10-20 below weather so my boy's paws start hurting after being outside for a minute. I have come to realize that putting a plastic baggy over his feet then putting baby/toddler socks over them works much better. Not to mention that the velcro strap does not get "tight" enough to keep snow out of them so it is pointless for him to wear them if he is walking around with snow inside of them.

Didn't Work for Us
Our Golden was having problems getting around on snow. The cold was hurting her feet. I cut some socks off and tied them over her feet, and it didn't bother her at all. The main thing was that they'd get wet on the snow and would stick to icy patches. So, I ordered these. I thought she'd wear them fine since socks didn't bother her. I was wrong. These are pretty stiff. They're not very pliable. She wouldn't even stand up when I put them on. I left them on a while to see if she'd get used to them. She didn't. She did stand up, but she'd try to take a step and then stop. I think they're too stiff for our dog. They might work wonderfully for another dog.

but they do not easily stay on her feet
These do protect my dogs paws from the ice and snow, but they do not easily stay on her feet. We frequently have to turn around and go back to look for a missing boot. I think it is just so bitterly cold here that the material doesnt form to her feet and stick to the velcro.

Pawtectors
Have tried other boots on the eight paws of my Afghan Hounds and these seem to do the trick. Spent $$$ for the boots that look like sneakers, they were heavy duty but putting them on and taking them off took more time than walking the dogs. Also tried "disposable" boots but that was a joke on concrete sidewalks. These stay on most of the time, and hold up fairly well. Others in my neighborhood use them and also feel positively about them.

Five Stars
Item works great for keeping our new hard wood floor from getting scratch by the dogs nails.
