I am a tea snob, i drink Teapigs on a regular basis and was really happy to test this tea as Lemon and Ginger is one of my own personal favourites despite the fact that i detest ginger (yes i know)As i always do, i just kept the teabag in the bag and drank when it was safe enough for me to do so without burning my lips. I would say around 5 minutes. The smell was very lemony, no ginger at all, but the taste again was all lemon and no ginger, which i was happy with but if you buy this thinking you will get a strong ginger kick you will be disappointed. It is a very refreshing drink first thing in the morning, and if you have a cold. It’s decent, but to my tastes, it’s not overly strong. Even when left in the mug for quite some time and left to overbrew, it still won’t knock your tastebuds off your tongue. And this is the main minus point for me, as I like tea with a good strong ginger flavour, but in this tea the lemon leads the taste for sure.It’s a fine (as in refined) tea, not a “help I’ve got a cold and I need a kick” tea. It might be a good staple drink for singers, orators or teachers during the winter months, as its nuanced flavours work well if you haven’t got a cold, but if you do have a cold, this isn’t going to be the ginger tea that knocks it out of you.
