I got this to help my failing eyes paint some miniatures. I looked at a lot of different models that would attach to a desk and otherwise. This was so inexpensive and all the other reviews were mixed so I decided it's worth a chance. So far it's worked great, the focal plane on it is perfect for my presbyopic eyes. It's easily stored, and oddly I have a head mounted magnifier and it works with that as well so I can get items really large. For a cheap little battery power plastic unit, this thing really delivers value. I might buy some more as gifts this xmas.

I would return this but Amazon charges $11.95 for UPS pick-up label. off to Goodwill, I guess. The product is as described, however not user-friendly. The 2.5x magnification is not enough if you're buying this because of bad eyesight. (and why else would you buy this?). I can buy 3x mag glasses at any hardware store. the main portion of the glass needs to be at least 5x to be helpful. The teeny tiny 5x circle is way too small and impossible to see through as it requires constantly altering the distance to your eye. The light is just ok. It's only two led lights.

I love the fact it stores flat. I don’t use it regularly, so compact storage is a plus. I wish it had one more axis of rotation though.

Light weight, portable, and bright... lens could be of better quality.

Great for model building

The product arrived with the on/off switch broken off. Even after I popped it back on and double checked the batteries, the lamp just doesn't turn on. It's lightweight, but it just feels cheap and flimsy. Even if you're looking for a cheap light/magnifier, I would recommend getting one that's better made so that it actually works.
