JUSTIFIES THE PRICE
Display, Design, and Hardware:-The 10.or E sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS 2.5D display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display surprisingly good and bright enough with good color reproduction, viewing angles. Due to its reflective display, the sunlight legibility is average. The build quality of the smartphone is too good at this price range. It is solid, premium, compact and feels good when held in hand, even though the phone has a polycarbonate body. The control you get over this smartphone when using two hands is just too good. It comes in metal unibody design like other smartphones in the market. The bottom bezel is too big and looks awkward without any physical or capacitive button on it. The company could have implemented fingerprint scanner at least on the bottom. The phone measures 154×78 x8.5mm and weighs 150 grams.Talking about the placement, the front side we have LED flash, earpiece, 5MP camera, small notification LED and the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors. It also has a magnetic sensor (magnetometer) and gyroscope so you can use the phone with VR headsets. This mobile comes with on-screen navigation avoiding physical button on the bottom bezel.Moving right, we have the power button and volume rocker.Unlike most of the phones with hybrid SIM slot, this has dedicated SIM tray with dual nano SIM slots and a separate microSD card slot on the left.At the bottom, we have a primary microphone, MicroUSB port, and speaker grille each sitting right next to each other. Up top, we have just the 3.5mm audio jack.Turning it back, we have a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and fingerprint scanner module just below it. Above the camera, we have a secondary microphone.Software:-The 10.or E is shipped with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box, and as per the company, it is upgradable to Android 8.0 Oreo as well. The huge advantage of this device is that it runs on almost stock android except for some apps from Amazon such as Amazon Shopping, Prime Video and Amazon Kindle, Google utility apps and an app 10.or itself. The 10.or Care app helps you to diagnose various parts of the device including a battery, RAM, Wi-fi and more. With this app, you can also book for mobile repair, get the service estimates and you can also get in touch customer care either through call or email. From the lock screen, you can access Google assistant and camera app. The 10.Or E comes with stock dialer UI and Google keyboard. During calls, the earpiece volume is good and there is no call drop as well. Google Plus music is the default music player, but it doesn’t have FM radio. Loudspeaker output is decent enough for a silent room, otherwise it’s average. Audio through headset is good.Talking about the storage, it comes in two variants — 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. We got hold of the latter. Out of 3GB RAM, the user will get around 1.5GB of free space generally, and out of 32GB user will get around 22.73GB free space for data storage. If it’s not enough, you can also expand the storage slot up to 128GB with microSD.Dual SIM and ConnectivityIt has 4G connectivity with support for 4G VoLTE for Reliance Jio. Both the SIM slots have 4G support, but you can use 4G on only one SIM at a time. Other connectivity features include, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS.Performance:-The 10.or E is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 as GPU. This chipset from Qualcomm is specifically made for casual usage ranging from browsing the internet, listening to songs, chatting and watching videos.Having said that, it is not meant for intensive gaming or multi-tasking between heavy apps. During casual usage, the performance is smooth as butter and when tried to multi-task, it hangs and lags. If you are an intense gamer, then this device is not for you. It doesn’t get heated on 4G usage or when gaming. Check out some synthetic benchmark scores below.Camera:-The 10.or E sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture. To our surprise, the picture quality during daylight condition is good for a smartphone at this price range again. Images shot on the rear camera comes out naturally with right amount details and clarity. The processing capacity is right on point. On the downside, the images under low light tend to be grainy. Also, the flashlight tends to complement the picture by not overpowering the subject. But we cannot expect a smartphone from this price segment to be exceptional. The selfie camera is just average and the flash helps to take decent selfies at night as well.Fingerprint scanner:-This device has fingerprint scanner placed on the back side of the device just below the camera module. The process of adding fingerprint is too fast and accurate to a certain extent. In this device, you can add up to 5 fingerprints to unlock the device. As per the company claims, the fingerprint sensor on the back can unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds and the company kept its promise.Battery:-The 10.or E is powered by a 4000mAh battery without any fast charging technology so it takes over 2 and half hours to charge the phone. Talking about the usage, it comfortably take us through one day with both casual and intensive usage. It achieved a One Charge Rating of 15 hours and 41 minutes, which is pretty good. We will bring you the complete set of battery life test results soon.Conclusion:-Among other smartphones including Xiaomi Redmi 4, Moto E4 and more in the range, the 10.or E with the blend of solid build quality, smooth performance and long-standing battery, is definitely here to stay. Unless you are a heavy user, the first smartphone from the debutant 10.or won’t disappoint you at all when it comes to day-to-day usePros:-Build qualityDedicated Dual SIM and microSD slotsBattery lifeDecent cameraStock Android 7.1.2 with promised Android 8.0 OreoCons:-Lack of fast charging

Budget king of 2018?
I was planning to buy the Tenor D but the first flash sale was over within milliseconds & I couldn’t get my hands on the device. However today (11 Jan 2018) 10.or E is offered for 5999 (2 gb) under Tenor celebrations and I ordered that instead-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------10.OR E ADVANTAGES OVER 10.or D & XIAOMI REDMI 5A BY SPENDING Rs 1000/- EXTRA------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Phone gets a better processor (Snapdragon 430 vs 425 in 10.or D & Redmi 5A).+ Bigger and better display (5.5’ Full HD) and a slightly bigger battery to compensate for bigger FHD screen (4000 mAh),+ Ambient light sensor (10.or D lacks auto brightness feature) & Gyro Sensor which Redmi 5A lacks (Used for VR purposes).+ Faster charger (2A instead of 1A on 10.or D, Redmi 5A)+ Most importantly better placement of speakers (Bottom placed instead of back on 10.or D & Redmi 5A).At just 1k extra the 10.or E is offering major advantages over the other two.----------------IN THE BOX:------------------ Handset with in-built non-removable battery- Charging brick- USB – micro USB cable (Cable length – 1.0m)- Sim ejector pin- Information leaflet.--------------------------BUILD QUALITY------------------------Pros:- Build is decent for a phone of this price. It is made of polycarbonate.- Weighs at 164 gms which is decent for phone of this size. Weight is distributed well and feels light to hold- Power & vol buttons offer a very good tactile feedback though they are made of plastic but are very clicky.- Has 2 Sim slots and a dedicated micro SD slot which can take upto 128 gb. Supports VoLTE (Only 1 sim at a time).- Feature a 2.5D glass which makes the phone look stylish but it wll be difficult to find a proper fitting Tempered glass.- Fingerprint is not the fastest but quite consistent and unlocks the phone in about half a second.- Features a LED notification light.- Supports OTG after the software update.- Screen is protected by corning gorilla glass 3 which is excellent for a device of this price.- Speakers are placed on the bottom which is a better placement than back but they do not get too loud at even max volumeCons:- Power button is placed above volume buttons so it might take a while to get used to as most phones have it the other way. No textured power button to differentiate- Features on screen buttons which take up space on the screen. Could have easily placed them on the big chin below.- This isn’t a con really but it looks quite simple. Reminds of RN3.RATING – 4/5---------------DISPLAY-------------------It comes with a Full HD 1080p IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 401 ppi. The viewing angles are decent. Has a brightness of 400 nits which is OK for LCD panel and Sunlight visibility at max brightness is OK. Features Auto brightness which is again very good.RATING – 4/5-----------------------PERFORMANCE------------------------ It comes with Snapdragon 430 Soc (Octa core @ 1.4Ghz) & Adreno 505 GPU which is a power efficient chip but not so powerful. Suitable for light gaming but nothing more than that. At this price getting a snapdragon 400 series chip is good.- Android version 7.1.2 out of the box with update to Android Oreo guaranteed. Has an almost stock like UI and personally I prefer that over fancy customisable UI. Has some bloatware like the apps of this e-com.- After first boot received an update of 500+ mb which updated the security patch to dec 2017. Tenor has promised regular security patch updates.- UI is almost stock and hence quite fluidic because of the light skin. Touch sensitivity is decent for the priceRATING – 4.5/5___________BATTERY___________This is easily the best feature of this phone. It features an impressive 4000 mAh battery and power efficient soc gives a stellar battery juice. Heavy users can easily get 1+ day of use on a single charge. Moderate use will give 2 days of back upComes with a basic charger rated at 5V, 2A and takes about 2.5 hours to charge from 10-100 %. This device does not support fast charging and it is not fair to expect that at this priceRATING – 5/5---------------------CAMERA______________Probably the weakest part of this phone. Comes with a 13mp auto focus rear & 5mp front cameraPros:- Latest software update enables video recording at Full HD too at 60fps & 30 fps. EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) available for 30 fps.- Pictures come out good when lighting is sufficient.- Front camera has a flash too.- Focussing speed is decent and shutter speed is good.Cons:- Takes a bit of time to process and save the image.- Front camera is below average even for this price range- Rear camera suffers when lighting is not good.- Though EIS is there fir 30fps recording but the footage are too shaky still.Attaching a few camera samples taken by the rear camera. ( 2- Outdoor daytime, 1- Outdoor night, 2 – Indoor)RATING – 3.5/5RATING OF ALL THE 5 ABOVE CATEGORIES ARE MADE KEEPING IN MIND THAT THIS IS A BUDGET RANGE DEVICE.===============VERDICT===============I would recommend to spend Rs 1000/- extra and go for the 10.or E if it’s still available for 5,999 & 6,999 for 2gb & 3gb variants respectively when you read this review. And no queuing up for flash sales necessary for this. If you are a power user than the 3gb RAM variant @ 6,999 will suit you.
