Makes more than it appears
When I first received the pan, I was surprised by how shallow the sides were (~1/2 inch), although the size description is accurate. I've always made tamagoyaki in a regular round skillet with less than appealing outcomes. Using this pan, making tamagoyaki rolls was so easy with beautiful results. We used 4 eggs, 1/4 cup dashi and 1 teaspoon sugar to make one roll. The pan sat evenly on our gas burner and clean up was a breeze. Highly recommend it.

Almost perfect
I really wanted to give this 5 stars but because the pan sits uneven I had to take 1 star off. This affects cooking a bit specially if you’re making rolled omelettes. Still this is a nice little pan and if greased correctly it is better than a nonstick pan. Size is also great to make 2 fried eggs at a time and about the right size for a grilled cheese. Make sure to read the care instructions and never ever EVER stick cast iron in a dishwasher. Seriously.

Perfect for making tamago
After years of making tamago in my 70-year-old round cast iron skillet, I decided to try this to improve the looks of the dish. It's great. Small, yes, but with the way the tamago is rolled in thin layers, the pan holds a lot more than you would think. It does a great job, and seeing that I prefer to cook with only cast iron, it's a great addition to my kitchen.

AMAZING
As someone who has been to Japan many times and truly appreciate japanese culture, it was very hard to find a Tamagoyaki pan that would live up to my expectations without breaking the bank! These case iron tamagoyaki pans are a great value, not too heavy, non stick (if oiled right) and is very easy to clean. I would highly recommend these to everyone who truly appreciates a good Japanese omelette!

Preseasoned, great weight, and tiny.
I fell in love with this pan the moment I opened the packaging. Though it is not a rectangle it makes enough tamagoyaki for 1 to 2 people easily.

Too shallow to make any omelette
Size is fine to make a fried egg, but too shallow to make an omelette out of it, let alone Japanese omelette.

Disappointed and don't waste your money
I cook with cast iron pans daily and I'm no stranger to seasoning and maintaining my pans. So I was excited to find a cast iron Japanese omelette pan, as advertised. I really want to like this pan, but the quality of this pan is so poor and with numerous pores so large that it's not suitable for cooking eggs. Believe me, I've tried. For the price, it's not worth it. Please don't make the same mistake I did.
