Sangean SG-116 Retro Wooden Cabinet Radio

Q: Is an antenna needed for this radio?

For the SG-116 an external FM antenna is not required but it pulls in more stations with an external antenna. This is typical of all radios. I built my SG-116 into a wall and strung 4 ft of 14 AWG electrical wire inside the wall as the FM antenna. It pulls in about 25 FM stations in a suburban area.

Q: does it plug in to an electrical outlet?

Yes (note in the description, "Power Source Corded Electric"). A cord comes with the unit. It plugs into the back of the radio and a standard 120 VAC wall outlet.

Q: What’s the difference between this model and the sangean wr-11…? the features appear to be identical…

The only difference is the Model number and color, all features are the same.
