This lens is cheap and the image quality is good, nothing else. Does not have that wow effect but works really fine, it’s small and light. I ended up returning this after trying the Nikkor 50 1.8S and that’s an amazing lens. If you’re in a low budget and looking for a 85 FX equivalent that would do.

I own several other Viltrox lenses and this one lives up to the reputation that I have come to expect from their products.The lens glass is clear and images are sharp. The build quality is amazing and includes a metal lens mount like their other gear. Also included is a lens hood... these are a priority to me and I have one for every lens I own.Function on the camera is speedy with fast autofocus and no hunting. Bokeh is soft and beautiful for a f/2.8 aperture on a 20mm lens as long as you keep your subject and background a good distance apart. The closer the subject is to the background, the more the bokeh becomes muddy and a little harsh... I would not recommend this for anything closeup.I found this lens to be perfect for video, the 20mm focal length is perfect and the f/2.8 aperture gets plenty of light to the sensor.Manual focus is crisp and fast... feels smooth as well.Overall this is a great lens for the Nikon Z-Mount system and I would suggest it for video shooters over photographers. It will produce great stills but there are better and faster options on the market.
