Excellent
I am impressed at how fresh and tasty these nuts are. I hesitate ordering nuts online because I don't know how long they might have been in stock. These are very good. They are nice whole, plump Brazil nuts and a great price for the size of the bag. They came very quickly and I will definitely order from this seller again.

Yum - My second favorite nut, and its benefits are crucial
Brazil nuts are the best way to add selenium to your diet. Selenium is a trace mineral that is essential to good health but required only in small amounts. It is used in creating important antioxidant enzymes that help prevent cellular damage from free radicals. Free radicals are natural by-products of oxygen metabolism that are seen to contribute to the development of chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease. Selenium is also critical for proper thyroid functioning and plays a role in the immune system. The mineral selenium has been shown in multiple studies to be an effective tool in warding off various types of cancer, including breast, esophageal, stomach, prostate, liver and bladder cancers. "It contributes towards the death of cancerous and pre-cancer cells. Their death appears to occur before they replicate, thus helping stop cancer before it gets started, and has also been shown to aid in slowing cancer's progression in patients that already have it.Eating just two Brazil nuts a day is effective in increasing selenium status and enhancing glutathione peroxidase activity. Glutathione peroxidase is the general name of an enzyme family with peroxidase activity whose main role is the protection of organisms from oxidative damage. That is why I pay so much for a bag of nuts. Yet it goes a long way. Food To Live product is organic and tastes fresh. I am doing Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn / Dr. John McDougal's diet which is an oil free diet. Nuts is not permitted, but circumstances and the benefits of Brazil Nuts are cause for that change. That said, I highly recommend Food To Live's Brazil Nuts.

Very good. Big
Very good. Big, Fresh, Whole. But I'm confused. The first time I bought I received a huge 2# bag.the second time I bought I received a small 2# bag. Serously. I'm wondering if first time customers get "larger sized" bags to draw them back. The nuts are deliicous, the price is good. I just thought the first time the price was oustanding because the bag I received was at least twice the size of the second order.

Good Quality Nuts (& eat it with real Butter)
My Chiropractor instructed me to eat 3 nuts a day (with real butter - yummy) for Selenium. I must say that I REALLY FEEL & FUNCTION DIFFERENTLY when I am diligent in eating these nuts daily. Ingesting anything in its most natural form is a million times healthier than taking it in a pill/capsule form. As a person who was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease (which most probably stemmed from a Leaky Gut syndrome), my system is shot. Re-programming my eating habits is a life-changing act. Not every health "supplement" in pill form is "good." I am going back to what God has supplied for me. The price is affordable, the packaging is strong and durable. These nuts have remained fresh & crunchy...& I bet I still haven't reached the 1lb of this 2lb bag. Get a bag, eat it with BUTTER & enjoy how Selenium helps your GI tract.

Love these nuts!
These are literally sitting on my desk as I type this review. Love these nuts! I can't find them in any store locally, but almost prefer them being shipped right to my door. The only other time I have had Brazil nuts, is around the holidays when the "Bag o Nuts" that you have to shell yourself comes around. These are the nuts that are in the big brown, crescent shaped (ugly, elephant skin looking) shell. Nobody usually eats them because they are hard to shell, but they are so good! They are "Meaty" and have a different texture than cashews or peanuts. I bought these nuts because I've started to hear more about the nutrients they provide, and I'm not a HUGE meat-eater (although I love steak!), and don't eat a lot of fish either.I have no problems with this particular one, other than the cost being so high, but that is typical for these nuts. I have only had one nut out of half the bag that was "bitter" and that was only because there was a lot of the skin on the nut itself. I signed up for the monthly delivery for one bag, but I think I will change it to 2 bags... maybe 3!

Always Fresh
Last year a cancer survivor advised my wife that, among other things, 3 Brazil nuts a day (no more, no less) would go a long way as a deterrent to ever developing the dreaded disease. Now, I cannot confirm or deny the veracity of the claim but it certainly seemed a simple and harmless practice to us so we've been dutifully eating our three nuts daily for over a year now and have ordered several bags of these nuts over the period.I'll admit that Brazil nuts have never been among my favorites and have always been the leftovers in any nut mix I've ever eaten. These nuts have always been fresh, however, and I've come to enjoy my daily "dose". Because the bag is large compared to the volume we consume we do keep it refrigerated to ensure that the nuts will not become stale before we finish the bag every six weeks or so.
