We have a barfy cat, which means we can't leave her alone overnight unless we want to return to a vomitorium. It also means that she needs to get her food in small doses throughout the day. This feeder is the answer. It was easy to assemble and easy to adjust for quantities. I really don't understand the reviews that say it's difficult to put together. Try to keep the pointy end of the screwdriver pointing away from you and see if that helps. I can only imagine that their children's toys are simple things like lint or the occasional clump of dirt. The timer is top quality and can be programmed for multiple events, 24/7.My only suggestion for improvement would be to sell a model that doesn't include the drum feeder, as that part of it isn't necessary for all animals and I suspect it often ends up in the landfill.On to customer service: as we all know, "customer service" comes from the ancient Greek words "customo cervici", translated by many companies as "bugger off". Super Feeder stands behind their product 100%; no, make that 200%. I know this, because the timer in my package was one of the few defective units that crop up from time to time; hey, stuff happens.It was with some dread that I sent an email to the manufacturer, expecting something along the lines of "Thank you for buying our product, now go away." Instead, I got an immediate response from an actual human named Gerard, who told me not to bother sending in the bad unit, and that another *tested* unit was in the mail. Thanks for being a responsible vendor.

I've had this since 2014 and the electronics broke on 2023 making the unit inoperable. I reached out to support and they were very responsive and pointed to where I could purchase the replacement parts. At a quarter of the price or the cost to replace the electronics in the Super feeder unit, I decided to see what else was out there and went with the 2L PetLibro feeder instead and like it much better since it addresses all the shortcomings of the Super feeder.Short comings of the Super feeder with comparison to the PetLibro unit1. Sometimes the cat food I feed my cat will have some big size pieces due to manufacturing error where many pieces will get stuck together and clog the unit. This would either cause a lot of food to come out or very little and it would be awhile before I would even notice. Very annoying when it happened since my cat would get fat to skinny and I have to go in there, dump all the food out, and remove the piece.-- With the PetLibro, there is jam detection which is nice2. Adjusting and dialing in the amount of food that comes out is annoying and never precise. To adjust the Super feeder you have to adjust the time dial and pressure screw. It takes many trial and error attempts to do so and you have to keep in mind the weight or amount of food that is in the canister/hopper since when its filled all the way up or when its low, it will affect the amount of food that comes out. So you keep having to test and measure over and over again to get it balanced. Takes about 15-30 mins to do so. Of course if you stick with one food then you just have to do it once.-- With the PetLibro, the way it works is that the food will fill a small chamber and you just adjust how many servings you want to feed. Way better method and I dialed it in in minutes.3. No battery backup power. If there is no power then the unit will not dispense food. I remember when I was at my girlfriend's and there was a bad freeze where it knocked out the power for a few days and the roads were iced over. I wasn't able to go home so my cat was unable to eat and after that, anytime I away for the weekend, there was a little anxiety about if power were to randomly go out while I was away.-- With the PetLibro, there is battery backup power along with battery level indicator.4. Aesthetics. I personally do not like the aesthetics of the unit, especially if you put the big gallon hopper on so I ended up never using the big hopper.-- With the PetLibro, It looks more sleek to me.5. Plastic bowl-- PetLibro has a metal bowl which I like better and its way easier to take out and clean.6. Low food indicator. Since the Super feeder uses a clear hopper, you can visually see when food is low.-- PetLibro, there is a red light that will indicate when food is low or if you get the wifi version, then you'll get a notification.7. Hopper Design. The way the hopper is designed, is there are plastic rectangular pieces that stack on top. I can't tell you how many times I or someone else would accidentally grab the hopper from the top when moving the unit around say when I drop off the cat at my parents and food would spell all over. Very annoying when that happens.-- PetLibro, The whole unit is the hopper essentially and there is a top cap that locks in place and secures the food. Also another cool thing is there is a compartment for desiccant if you want to keep the food more fresh.8. Portability. When I would go out of town on vacation, I would have my parents watch my cat and also bring the feeder. It's annoying to transport since the hopper can come off if grabbed incorrectly spilling little pieces of food everywhere if its filled, can only transport in the upright position, and food will fall out the feeder chute.-- PetLibro, The way its designed, there are no concerns from above.9. Price, Pretty expensive compared to the competition with shortcomings and less features.-- Petlibro, I got the 2L unit for a quarter of the price and you can get the bigger unit with wifi option for half the price.All in all, I am kind of glad my unit broke and forced me to see what else is out there and very happy with the PetLibro unit I got.

I am absolutely ecstatic with my purchase of this automatic cat feeder by Super Feeder. First off, the engineering is flawless. In this day and age, you rarely find a product that some assembly is required where all the holes line up and the parts fit together perfectly like this one did. Very impressive! Of course instructions are included but the company also refers you to their website where they have two videos to aid in the assembly and setup of the timer. They are very comprehensive in their step-by-step procedures. If you follow the steps in these videos you can’t go wrong.The versatility of this feeder is phenomenal. I feed my cat a little bit more in the morning than I do at noon and at night. With a few simple adjustments and timer variation, you can feed your cat different amounts of food at your preferred feeding times during the day. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to adjust and validate this process. There again… Watch the videos!The design of the feeding mechanism is such that there is no way that your cat will be able to get an extra meal out of the machine. This in itself is another factor that sets this feeder apart from most others. It alleviates the frustration of your pet inadvertently gaining weight because absolute dietary measures can’t be obtained because of extra feeding.The company that builds this feeder is family owned and operated. It was apparent from second one of opening the package that they take pride in workmanship and the service they provide very seriously. This unit may be a little bit pricey BUT, you get what you pay for. If I had it all to do over again; would I buy this product? In a heartbeat!! Buy American!
