A smart choice
Was really pleased with this product. Arrived in a small box and looks very minimalist. Has a simple button on the side and is not bulky. Downloaded the Smart Life app and was ready to go. Seems the Smart Life app is a generic app for a host of cheaper smart devices to work with. The app is very slick and allows you to connect a number of smart devices and control these together. Was really pleased to see this device supported by a high quality app.As soon as I plugged in the device it automatically went into pairing mode. Supplied instructions are very light but the app automatically detected the device in pairing mode and it was up and running within a minute. The smart plug works flawlessly with Alexa. I think it's an excellent device. I struggle to see the usefulness beyond controlling lamps, fans or devices that may need occasional power cycling. But I'm sure I'll find more uses as I go along! Would definitely purchase more of these as they work straight out of the box and have a host of features thanks to the Smart Life app.

Smart WiFi Plug (20A): Powerful and Functional, But Check Socket Compatibility
The media could not be loaded. The Things I Really Liked> High amperage rating: The 20A capacity allows me to control high-powered appliances like heaters and water heaters.> Easy setup: Connecting the plug to the SmartLife app was straightforward and hassle-free.>Energy monitoring: I can track the energy consumption of plugged-in devices through the app, helping me identify areas to potentially save energy.> Remote control and scheduling: The app allows me to turn devices on/off remotely or schedule them to switch on and off automatically at specific times.> Voice control: The plug worked seamlessly with Alexa, enabling voice control for added convenience.> Manual on/off button: The presence of a physical button on the plug itself is handy for manual control when needed. And The Thing That Made Me Grumble= Round design: The round shape of the plug blocked a neighbouring socket on my power strip, although this is less of an issue if plugged directly into a wall socket. The VerdictThis 20A WiFi Smart Plug is a functional and powerful option for controlling various appliances in your home. The ability to handle high-powered devices, monitor energy use, and schedule or remotely control them is a plus. However, the round design might limit its use on some power strips. It's important to consider your socket configuration before purchasing. If you're looking for a smart plug to control high-current appliances and need features like energy monitoring and scheduling, this is a great choice of plug. Just ensure you have compatible socket layouts to avoid any potential blockage!

Does Not Work With HomeAssistant / Offline
This is another plug that requires an internet connection to a Chinese server, where you are not in control of what data you're giving them.Like with all Tuya/SmartLife/Tapo devices, they will not work unless you have an internet connection.I was unsuccessful in getting this to work with HomeAssistant. There are forum posts about this model: WHDZ03But, it turns out that this same model comes in ZigBee and 2.4GHz WiFi. This version is the 2.4GHz WiFi version only. The unit is sonic-welded shut. So only way to potentially write new firmware, would be to destroy the casing, meaning it's no longer safe to use.So, sadly no offline mode.If you don't care about that at all and are perfectly happy to use the SmartLife App, while not worried about privacy concerns and whether your internet goes down... This is a very good plug. Takes minutes to set up and has decent power monitoring. So up to you. I'm on my ever continuous quest for the offline, smart plug.

Takes a little know how to set up
I got this to replace my older set of Smart Plugs that kept losing connection that needed to constantly be reset and also had a delay of upto a minute when turning on.This uses the same Smart Life app as the plug its replacing and so was fairly easy for me to set up and get running. I have it connected to my bedside lamp called "My Bedroom Light" and so with a command to Alexa to turn on my bedroom light it turns on in an instant. It can be controlled with the app on the phone and can also be linked to Amazon Alexa and Google Home hub so can control if from either assistant (I dont own any apple products so not sure how well it works there)It works flawlessly!Good price and so an easy recommendation

Goes offline
This smartplug goes offline constantly. It will not work as intended. I have to keep reconnecting. None of my other smartplugs do this. Do not buy.

Good value smart plug
This is not the first time I've setup smart plugs and I was interested in this latest one due to the low price point. Starting with the build quality, initial impressions were good - no issues at all and on a par with the quality of other more expenses smart plugs I've used.It was quite easy to setup using the app available via the QR code and it didn't take very long. After initially struggling to get it to work with Alexa, I worked out that I needed to 'complete account' in the Tuya app, which is basically just registering your email address. Once I had done this, I was able to link it with Alexa in the Tuya app.Overall though, this is a great value smart plug and highly recommended.
