It comes in a easy carry box (even though its 75+lbs) which made it easier to get upstairs. I will be repurchasing my replacement through them with the same bike in a different color. Overall, I'm thrilled with my Totem Electric Bike. The performance, quality, and customer service have been exceptional. The bike just arrived this morning, so these are initial impressions. The quality and completeness of the bike seem very good for the price. It's heavy, but that's how it goes with e-bikes. The packaging is excellent. Lots of heavy zip-ties, though, so you'll need a razor knife, stout scissors, or wire cutters.Assembly was straightforward, with clear instructions and diagrams. I was slow and methodical and still got the job done in under 90 minutes. Just one small glitch in the instructions: it said the bolts for the derailleur guard would be in the box, but they were actually screwed into the bike frame already. Although I've done my own bike maintenance for decades, I'd say that even a first-timer could assemble this one successfully. And all necessary tools are included.The first test ride was a little surprising. The manual explains how to use the controls for the electric assist but not how the bike responds. I set the controller on Level 1 (the least amount of assist) and started pedaling. The bike immediately took off on me and I instinctively grabbed the brakes to stop it again. It turns out that I was also twisting the right handgrip, which operates like a motorcycle throttle. After that, it all went well. Choose assist Level 1 thru 5 if you want to pedal, or twist the grip to ride it like a motorcycle. Level 1 feels like a little boost while Level 5 feels like the bike is doing 95% of the work and you're just turning the pedals for show.One other small surprise: I assumed the bike would decelerate when I un-twisted the handgrip, like a gas-powered motorcycle does, but it just coasts instead. No engine braking, duh! I'm sure this will all become second nature very quickly.

Easy to assembleI only gave 4 stars due to the following:Tires are of the thinnest rubber I've ever seen on a bicycle. If you go off road plan on having extra tube's on hand, as anything even remotely sharp will puncture the tire/tube.Bicycle fell over on the kickstand(soft dirt) resulting in the derailer bracket snapping in half(cheap pot metal)Rides good, brakes work well, battery seems to hold up pretty well.Battery takes approximately 3-4 hours to charge from dead.
