A great and necessary book for people interacting with love with Earth and her plants
I really like Michael's style of friendly writing. He really helps me get down and into the dirt to meet this whole new world below my feet.... this world that feeds the plants I tend and so many that I don't tend, too. This is a Mycorhizall Planet we live on.... and it's time for me to tune into this reality.... Thank you Michael for making the heart felt introductions.

Fabulous, inspiring book
I will read anything that Michael Phillips writes. Not only is he a leading authority on growing fruit organically, Phillips could find a way to write the listings in the phone book in an entertaining fashion. So it was a no-brainer for me to pre-order his latest book and I was not disappointed. He covers some very complicated science (who knew soil and fungus were so complex?), but makes it accessible to the interested reader. I learned a lot and am re-inspired to continue on the fungal path in my homesteading endeavors. If you own his The Holistic Orchard, you will find crossover and even some repeated illustrations and photographs. He goes into greater detail in this book, though, and his research has turned up new twists to the tale. I better understand the reasons for the various components of the holistic sprays he champions and have immediately put some of the suggestions into action, such as adding karanja oil to the mix.It is well worth the addition to your library.

A deep understanding of all things that happen in healthy and fertile soils.
I wish I had discovered this book before. I read it, I experimented with mycorrhizal with my trees and roses, made some of the teas, stopped digging the soil, mulched with chipped wood, all things in the ways advised in the book and boom, what a beautiful healthy plants I'm growing. The change came slowly, true, but my soil keeps getting better and better. There're plenty of other tips and references in the book if you want learn/research/experiment more.

An amazing topic. A lot more people should read it
An amazing topic. A lot more people should read it. I'll never look at the soil, the plants, the environment the same way.
