Kindred Hearts Dolls Danica Black Curly Hair Brown Eyes PVC Girl Doll, African American, 18"

I don't buy too many dolls. Our boys have had a few because boys grow up and become daddies, but they have always preferred softer dolls that they can drag around or sleep with. I was shopping for my goddaughter, who is into 18" dolls. I found this one and a number of much more expensive ones and decided that I could order it and if it worked, it worked. If it didn't, I would be taking a trip to the mall and hoping they had at two or three brown dolls available. However, there will be no trip to the mall. This doll is beautiful and appears well made. The eyes do not ,open and shut, but besides that, I can't understand why it is so well priced. I would definitely buy this doll again.

I bought this doll to donate to the charity "Don't Cry, I'm Here" that donates dolls, doll clothes and Bears to refugee children. They were very pleased with it.

This doll is amazing, I love the details top to bottom. It is worth every penny.

Very stiff and ugly not worth it

Writing this review is problematical, because "Danica" is a lovely doll. My issues are more with the company, Kindred Hearts. I bought both Jaimee and Danica as future presents for children. Both dolls were dressed in charming and well-made outfits. Both are extremely pretty. Both are sturdily constructed. Both cost almost the same. However, Jaimee has a thicker torso, has a cloth body, and her arms and legs are thicker than Danica's. She is also shorter than Danica. She has better quality hair than Danica and I would say, as an experienced sewer, that her clothes are marginally better constructed and of better quality materials. Danica's eyes do not close but Jaimee's do. Danica is more like a "Springfield" doll, while Jaimee is closer to a Wal-Mart, "My Life as a …" series of dolls. Given the clear differences, and in my opinion, deficiencies, of Danica, I would have thought the company would have sold her at a lower price. I took a chance on buying her, largely because Jaimee was such a delight, but I am disappointed in Danica. She is not the equal of her sister doll and should not have been sold at the same price.
