Standard matcha, not exceptional but solid
I'm becoming quite the (not professional) matcha connoisseur after trying over a dozen different matchas on this platform, and there's honestly not much I can expect from this kind of (lack of) branding. The color comes out more muted than many of my other matchas, and it's not as vibrant as any of them either. It's fine for casual consumption, but it's certainly NOT ceremonial or even premium grade, and don't let others tell you it is?? I'm still giving it top marks because it's very decently priced for the quantity you get, however. Again, emphasis on casual consumption. I always do my tests on these matchas with the full ceremonial preparation approach (with the sifting, manual whisking, water no hotter than 80F), and I judge accordingly. There's still an odd tart to this one that I don't approve it compared to true premium/ceremonial matchas.

great as an ingredient ~
I used the matcha powder both as tea and as an ingredient in various recipes. The powder is fine and doesn't clump too much, making it easy to blend into ice cream and baked treats. The caffeine kick is just right, and I had no issues using it in any of my recipes. The taste is spot on, delivering the authentic flavor of high-quality matcha.

Heavenly Matcha
This matcha is extremely high quality and packs a beautifully rich flavor. I brewed up a cup of this tea without adding anything else to it, and I found that the flavor was perfect. The package lists a serving size as being 1 teaspoon, but in the past I have only done half a teaspoon per cup of water, so I did that when making my tea and found that the flavor was not too strong and not too weak - just right! This tea is also very finely ground, so be sure to properly stir it into your water, otherwise you will end up with a solid clump of matcha powder. This matcha is definitely ceremonial-grade without any sugar additives, so it is perfect for making a cup of pure tea, adding it to oatmeal, or brewing up an iced latte!

Meh flavor
I do not recommend this one except for the price, and potential health and positive energy benefits, hence two stars. I drink a soy matcha latte every morning. I’ve tried many latte grade matchas (all claiming to be organic, authentic Japanese.) My favorite by far for my latte use is Patenger organic, latte grade, first harvest. I ran out and tried to save a few bucks with this one. Here is the difference: the powder is slightly browner, a less vibrant green, even more noticeably after hot water is added and whisked. The flavor reflects that as well. It doesn’t have any umami that I can detect. Also no mild astringency I’ve come to love with matcha. Kinda murky, bland. I added extra powder today to try for more flavor but ended up with just an overly strong cup, more caffeine without more positive flavors. I love how the Patenger matcha flavor(s- there are many different taste aspects to matcha!) shines though even when I add my soymilk and a little honey. Also the matcha itself whisks up a beautiful thick and creamy bright green, so lovely. I won’t be reordering this matcha and I guess I’ll suffer through until my next subscription of Patenger arrives.

Who needs Starbucks?
I would give this six stars if I could. This is some premium quality matcha. I didn’t have a matcha whisk so I used a frother to blend it with the hot water, then used a touch of vanilla creamer in the milk when it was steaming and frothing. It’s absolutely delicious, with a gorgeous color and a delicate flavor. The instructions are accessed via a QR code on the bag, which takes you to a PDF recipe book. The only catch with the non-beverage recipes such as cookies is that the dry measurements are in grams instead of cup measurements. A quick Google search will provide the information you need, however. My “yuck, matcha is too grassy” daughter agrees—it’s great!

Good quality match
This is a nice quality matcha that dissolves very well. It has a beautiful bright green color that I'm told is how you know if you have culinary grade matcha. It has been great for iced or hot lattes. I love that this is unsweetened so I can tailor it to everyone liking. Great health benefits with matcha and not jitters so overall great buy.

Good tasting matcha
This matcha is culinary grade, it's got good color and it whisked up just like my premium grade matcha. The taste? Very much like the matcha I'm used to from Japan. I thought it was very good. My daughter, however, said it was grainy. I think it might be a little grainy, but I probably used a little too much. I made matcha latte with this.
