Mastering 11+ : Cloze - Practice Book 2

The right level of difficulty for a beginner to Cloze
My daughter aged 9 started this last night, and did the first 4 exercises. We went through the first one together as this is her first encounter with Cloze, and she did the remaining 3 herself. She found it easy enough, although of course she needs to work on her timing, which we arent bothered about at this stage. I liked this book because its not too hard for her so she didnt feel discouraged - its just the right level of difficulty, enough to make her think but not so difficult that she is throwing up her hands in despair. Perhaps it gets progressively difficult, I dont know, but its a good introduction to Cloze, and I would definitely recommend it as a first book.

As you read it you feel like you are being subjected to a horrible joke book
This book is a literal joke. As you read it you feel like you are being subjected to a horrible joke book, a 'how not to write english for dummies'. It sounds and reads like a badly edited version of Asian- English. The sheer amount of grammatical mistakes is just appalling and any company should be ashamed of having a product of this poor quality.Sentences such as 'Sometimes I try to ______ her; but if she is in a good temper she says she has got a bone in her leg, and if she isn't she says that when little boys can't amuse themselves it's a sure and certain sign they've got "the worrits," and the sooner they are pit to bed with a Gregory's powder "the ______ for themselves and everyone else."This book would only be harmful to any child trying to do well in the 11+ exams. Please do NOT buy this book.
